Candace Owens urges people to be ‘honest’ about infamous Kanye tweet: ‘Inspired questions, not answers’

Conservative commentator Candace Owens weighed in on the left’s all-out offensive on rapper Kanye West over his controversial social media activity that led to him being silenced on both Twitter and Instagram, with many demanding that he be permanently de-platformed like former President Donald J. Trump.

West has been accused of waging a “war on Jews” for his cryptic posts that many have described as being antisemitic, in particular a Twitter missive in which he wrote that he was declaring “death con 3” on Jewish people, a strange variation of the commonly used DEFCON, a military term that describes levels of combat readiness, a possible typo that his political enemies have used to suggest that he has called for violence against Jews.

On Monday’s edition of her podcast for the conservative Daily Wire, Owens talked about the hysterical overreaction to West’s ill-advised tweet as well as the confusing nature of his choice of words, asking how an honest person could believe that the tweet that led to his censorship could be antisemitic in nature.

“Now, if you are an honest person, you did not think this tweet was antisemitic,” she said. “You did not think that he wrote this tweet because he hates or wants to genocide Jewish people. This does not represent the beginning of a Holocaust.”

“That’s if you’re an honest person, you’ll admit that, right?” Owens asked. “If you’re an honest person, when you read this tweet, you had no idea what the hell he was talking about. I had no idea, when I read this tweet, what the hell he was talking about. This tweet inspired questions, not answers.”

She then noted West’s flubbing of the term DEFCON,  “First and foremost, what is death con 3? Did he mean DEFCON 3, which would be a military defense position? Not an offense, for those of you that are offended, a military defense position, is he tweeting this because he’s reading the Newsweek headline, calling him an antisemitic.”

“Is he angry because he can’t believe that he’s not free to talk about people in his life who happened to be Jewish? Right? Without being accused of antisemitism? Is he saying, ‘I’m not gonna shut up and I’m gonna keep tweeting and I’m gonna keep calling these people out,’ referring to his friends that he feels slighted by?” Owens asked. “Is he talking about Jared Kushner and Josh Kushner?”

“If you’re a liar, you’ll say, ‘I know I was scared, Candace. I actually thought that Kanye West was going to launch a military strike in Israel,’” she joked. “Because that’s the reaction. Like when I woke up and I looked at the headlines, the reaction was like Kanye West had gotten together a military strike and it was going to go forward in the morning time in Israel, that was the reaction that was met with this tweet.”

“Now, once again, I want to make this very clear. This is not a defensiveness tweet. This is an open question, which never seems to happen anymore. It’s like you cannot even say the word Jewish without people getting upset in the same way that you’re not allowed to say black anymore,” she concluded.

The outrage campaign against West comes after a tour de force of a week in which “Ye” infuriated the “woke” left by toppling the false idol of the Black Lives Matter movement which he called out as a “scam” and for good measure, sat down for an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson during which he cast a volley of stones at the false “woke” religion and its purveyors.

West also appeared with Owens at a Paris fashion show where they both sported shirts emblazoned with the slogan “White Lives Matter” in a political statement that had the mob shrieking in fury.

Some might suggest that the politically-motivated nature of the vicious onslaught against West is just more of the same hypocrisy from the left which has ignored years of real antisemitic social media activity from Democrat lawmakers Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, neither of whom were blocked from Twitter or Instagram despite their Jew-bashing, open contempt for Israel and their defense of terrorists.
