A Las Vegas doctor who referred to himself as the “vagina whisperer” was accused of multiple counts of sexual misconduct including offers of $1,000 to patients to contribute to his “portfolio” while boasting he was fulfilling his “true purpose in life.”
Since 2003, Dr. George Peter Chambers has been licensed in the state of Nevada and marketing himself as the state’s only board-certified OB-GYN “also certified in sexual health medicine.” Now, according to a complaint filed Sept. 21 by the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners obtained by the Daily Beast, the doctor is facing serious allegations of exploiting and potentially abusing his patients.
According to the filing, “[Chambers] had demonstrated a pattern of failing to use the reasonable care, skill, or knowledge ordinarily used by obstetrician-gynecologists in good standing by repeatedly engaging in sexual improprieties with more than one patient.”
The complaint goes on to list three patients, A, B, and C, described as 36, 35, and 27-year-old females respectively, each with their own harrowing account of “care” at the hands of Chambers.
For Patient A, a Nov. 2020 consultation resulted in her being “humiliated and sexually demeaned” after the doctor allegedly requested to use her cellphone to take photos of her exposed genitals which he then asked to have messaged to him. The photos also included evidence of Chambers using his hand to sexually assault Patient A, which the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reportedly said could not constitute assault as the patient had assented to the examination.
“I knew the situation was not normal,” Patient A told the Daily Beast, “it felt wrong, and many things that were done and said by Dr. Chambers completely shocked and upset me. But my frame of reference kept me from recognizing, in those moments, the true nature of what was happening to me.”
Chambers’s social media accounts under the name “vagina whisperer” also included explicit close-ups of genitals to advertise his cosmetic surgery options for patients. Presumably, based on the allegations of Patients B and C, the doctor acquired those images by paying patients as much as $1,000 to pose for him.
The complaint asserted he “repeatedly exploited his relationship with patient and violated patients’ trust by engaging in sexual improprieties that constitute sexual misconduct” and his “repeated acts of sexual misconduct…undermine the public’s trust and respect for the medical profession.”
Patient B, who visited Chambers for seven years, had her trust violated by the doctor on several occasions including, at one point, when he was offering instruction to student doctors as she underwent a breast exam and blurted out how she had been “gang-raped” which she had told him in confidence.
Patient C had reportedly visited the doctor in Oct. 2019 for pelvic pain and routine care when, after recounting her own financial troubles, she was allegedly offered $1,000 to model for Chambers which she expressed was odd because he had not performed any cosmetic procedures on her.
Chambers’s website, which has been shut down, reportedly read “I am living my dream every day because I was blessed to have discovered my true purpose in life,” and his social media account included at least one video of him passing in front of a patient in a hospital gown with the caption “Dr. C living his best life.”
On his site, he also described his practice by laying out, “four guiding principles when I approach patient care: 1. I provide the same level of care as I would want for the women in my family. 2. I obey the basic rules of surgery to ensure a safe outcome for my patients. 3. I respect the human body; thus I create surgical incisions that will be aesthetically pleasing to my patients and to me. 4. I take pride in my work.”
The doctor was given 20 days from the date of the filing to respond before the Nevada Board could schedule a formal hearing.
