NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd seemed stunned when Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) predicted that Republicans will seek to impeach President Biden when they take control of the House and the left savaged him for not sufficiently attacking the GOP.

Todd interviewed Mace on Sunday and brought up House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) “Commitment to America” that Republicans are seeking to use as a roadmap after they win the midterm elections.
One of the focal points is an accountable government which Todd described as “kind of vague.” He then pivoted to impeachment.
“Do you expect an impeachment vote against President Biden if Republicans take over the House?” he asked Mace.
“I believe there’s a lot of pressure on Republicans to have that vote,” she said. “To put that legislation forward and to have that vote. I think that is something that some folks are considering.”
“Wow!” a stunned Todd exclaimed, failing to ask the most basic of journalistic questions concerning on what grounds the GOP would do that.
Average Americans have been struggling for far too long. My colleagues and I are Committed to America. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/hrSzfxmcNb

Mace continued by listing fraud, abuse of COVID funding, and other matters under Biden as issues being criticized by Republicans. Todd’s failure to press her on impeachment specifics incensed leftists who proceeded to shred him over it.
“If these ‘Impeach Biden’ votes come up, how will you vote?” Todd went on to ask her. Mace refused to be cornered on the issue, saying “I’m going to read how that bill is filed, what’s in it, what evidence there was.”
“I didn’t vote to impeach the former President of the United States, because I felt like due process was stripped away,” she asserted. “I will not vote for impeachment of any president if I feel that due process was stripped away for anyone. I typically vote constitutionally, regardless of who’s in power. I want to do the right thing for the long term because this isn’t just about today, tomorrow, this year’s election. This is about the future of democracy. This is about protecting our Constitution.”
Todd asked her at one point whether it’s “good for the Republican Party” to pursue the issue after decrying the impeachment attempts against former President Trump.
The Biden regime has been ruling America Last disastrous policies over the American people with an iron fist.
Everyone has had enough.
It’s time to put America First with Republican’s Commitment to America. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/0LmgixgBau

“If that happens,” Mace claimed, “I do believe it’s divisive, which is why I push back on it personally when I hear folks saying they’re going to file Articles of Impeachment in the House. I push back against those comments because we need to be working together.”
Democrats want specifics concerning the impeachment of Biden. They are not likely to fully learn what those are until Republicans retake the House of Representatives in the midterm elections. Many contend there is a long list of constitutional violations against the sitting president unlike the faux ones presented against former President Trump.
McCarthy had Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) at his side when he rolled out his agenda last week. It is very possible that proceedings against Biden will incorporate Greene’s latest attempt to introduce Articles of Impeachment.
Leftists took to social media to bash Todd for missing what they saw as a golden opportunity to nail the GOP.
“Good example for journalism students (and others!) to see how political journalists are failing you,” former CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien tweeted.
Radically unhinged leftist commentator Keith Olbermann chimed in, “At this point, some rando grunting ‘uh huh’ or ‘nuh’ while he scarfs a large Cheesesteak would offer more insight as the host of Meet The Press than Chuck Todd.”
Others lined up to take a poke at Todd:
Such irresponsible journalism. Normalizing impeachment and chaos with no interrogation or analysis. What the point other than to provide an undeserved platform for fringe thinkers? @chucktodd please explain this. https://t.co/LURKGqtSWP

This helps debase politics in general and normalizes using impeachment as a tool of political vengeance. He is the worst.

.@chucktodd: You asked a GOP member of Congress if they will vote to impeach President Biden when he has committed ZERO impeachable offenses. She says ‘maybe’ and you still don’t bother to ask what she would support impeaching him for. You are not a journalist. You’re a disgrace. pic.twitter.com/T6cPObS8I8

Chuck Todd asked Nancy Mace "will House Republicans impeach Joe Biden?"
After she answered "yes"
Todd never bothered (or thought) to ask the obvious follow-up question: "For what?"
