A neighborhood security camera captured an alleged attempted brazen abduction of a five-year-old girl in broad daylight on Thursday.
The disturbing incident happened on the northwest side of crime-infested city of Chicago under far-left Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
The suspect, who allegedly first tried to buy the girl from the mom, is still at large, and cops have requested the public’s help in identifying him.
According to ABC 7 Chicago, “Just before noon, investigators say a man followed the mother and child in the 5100-block of W. Fullerton before approaching the woman and offering money for the young girl. When the mother refused, the suspect tried to grab the girl by the hair and pull her toward him. The family fought back and were able to get away.”
The Chicago Bureau of Detectives confirmed the incident in a community alert which also advised residents to call 911 if they spot any suspicious characters in their neighborhood as well advising parents not to let children walk alone.
Chicago PD released a video of the encounter, labeled “attempt kidnapping/luring of youth,” that blurred the faces of the mother and daughter for privacy/safety reasons.

Local politicians have asked the undermanned police department to beef up patrols in the area.
“The attempted kidnapping happened just 16 days after a black male attempted to kidnap a girl outside Cermak Fresh Market near West Rogers Park on August 25,” the Daily Mail claimed.
Chicago is one of several of America’s Democrat-controlled cities where lawlessness is out of control.
In the meantime, Illinois under portly progressive Gov. J.B. Pritzker seems to have inexplicably followed New York’s disastrous lead by enacting so-called bail reform.
“This policy is a left-wing Democrat elite fantasy, and many veteran prosecutors warn no-bail policy will usher in even more anarchy and chaos when it becomes law in January…100 of Illinois 102 county prosecutors vehemently oppose the ‘Safe-T Act.’ They know getting rid of cash bail will mean more violent offenders on the streets and it will result in more crime violence,” former Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass wrote in his blog on August 31.
“When Chicagoans get together, crime is the main topic of conversation along with whether they should carry guns, because there aren’t enough cops, because the jails are emptying with the violent out on the street, because the Cook County prosecutor isn’t a crime fighter, because the criminal element has been emboldened. And it will all get worse when Illinois abandons cash bail,” he added.

As an aside, stranger danger that understandably constitutes every parents’ worst nightmare does not just occur in Chicago.
A few weeks ago, a brave six-year-old girl fended off an alleged abduction right in front of her Cincinnati-area home in a frightening incident was recorded on doorbell video.
Local police arrested a suspect in the incident.
