An impromptu high-wire act that, in part, lasted nearly nine hours-plus resulted in an alleged rooftop-hopping, unclothed man taken into custody by Washington, D. C., police.
On Wednesday afternoon at about 4 p.m., cops reportedly responded to a shots-fired call in the northwest part of the Democrat-controlled city.
According to NBC Washington, “Officers found a naked man, who eventually dressed, trying to swing on power lines and walking back and forth on porch roofs. Police said they recovered a gun at the scene. Police said the man was having a mental health crisis.”
FOX 5 claimed that “According to police, the man walked back and forth across the 11 rowhomes… damaging windows, guttering systems, and TV satellite dishes.” They subsequently determined that no active threat was still in effect.
Officers apparently had pursued the man in a foot chase before he went aloft.
With a large presence in the area, cops had locked down the neighborhood during the response, which also included the fire department.
Fox5 D.C. anchor Jim Lokay shared a video on Twitter of what purports to be from the incident while it was ongoing.

At about 1 a.m., the standoff ended with the suspect reportedly coming down voluntarily and surrendering peacefully. Officers then took him into custody without incident, and he was evaluated at a local hospital.
No injuries were reported.
As the situation wound down, cops reopened the streets in the area.
Captain John Terry of the D.C. police “said the man was likely under the influence at the time, but did not say what the man may have been on,” CBS D.C. affiliate WUSA9 noted.
This suspect reportedly faces a series of charges that may include “assault on a police officer, burglary in the second degree, unlawful discharge of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of unregistered ammunition, possession of an unregistered firearm, and destruction of property,” the Washington Examiner asserted, citing law enforcement sources.
The nation’s capital, with its far-left Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser, is, unfortunately, another blue municipality where lawlessness runs rampant.
According to the DC Home Trends website, however, the Brightwood Park area, a neighborhood where this incident occurred, “is very family-friendly, with a low crime rate.”
In an article published on Thursday, the liberal Washington Post admitted that “Candidates running for local D.C. offices discussed strategies for violent crime prevention at a forum in Southeast Washington this week, grappling once again with a topic that District voters say is a preeminent concern.”

All suspects are presumed innocent until or unless they are convicted in a court of law of any alleged crimes.
