‘This is what you signed up for as sanctuary city!’ Bowser gets an earful with renewed call for Natl Guard

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is still whining about her newfound anxiety over migrants showing up in her “sanctuary city,” a week after the Pentagon refused her request for a deployment of National Guard troops to ease her suffering.

Her letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin pleaded for support in order to “help prevent a prolonged humanitarian crisis in our nation’s capital,” as yet another busload of migrants disembarked in front of the U.S. Capitol at dawn Thursday.

Bowser made her renewed appeal known in a tweet on Thursday.

“We need help from our federal partners as we seek to stabilize and manage our operating environment in this critical moment. I have been honored to work with the men and women of the D.C. National Guard many times and today we renewed our request for their assistance.”

Last week, Austin denied Bowser’s request, citing the need for troop “readiness” that would be compromised were he to commit soldiers to the nation’s capital. He instead referred her to FEMA’s Emergency Food and Shelter Program, which he says the DOD has determined has sufficient funds “at this point to provide migrant assistance.”

In her letter, Bowser insisted her request would not be open-ended (yeah, right) and that she has been unable to find a non-military site in which to temporarily house and process the new arrivals.

Since April, at least 6,000 migrants have been bused to D.C. from Texas. Fewer have been taken to New York City so far as the busses have only started to arrive this month. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has been joined by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey since May in the endeavor to mitigate the deluge of migrants at the southern border and give the Biden regime and cities like NYC a taste of what they’ve asked for in declaring themselves to be sanctuaries for unfettered immigration, legal or not.

Two more buses recently arrived at NYC’s Port Authority terminal on Wednesday as protestors at the site warned that Mayor Eric Adams has no plan to deal with the influx. Some residents, however, handed out $20 bills to help the migrants get started as they roamed the streets in search of shelter, the Daily Mail reported.

Many on social media were quick to point out the total lack of awareness on the part of Mayor Bowser.
