Sick creep arrested after stalking and terrifying 6-yr-old girl, threatening to ‘turn her into a woman’

A Deltona, Florida man named Mark Greenburg has been arrested and is charged with aggravated stalking of a 6-year-old girl, threatening to “turn her into a woman,” and frightening the child so much she won’t venture outside.

Greenburg, 55, has reportedly been engaging in harassment of the child for months. Her father and neighbors all confirm a pattern of intimidating behavior towards the little girl and others, according to Breaking 911.

The man was taken into custody on Saturday after police obtained a warrant for his arrest following a number of complaints from nearly a dozen witnesses concerning his behavior. At least 11 of those incidents were reported to the Sheriff’s Office over the past 8 months. The reports included Greenburg harassing neighbors, yelling at them and their children using a megaphone, and recording children on his phone while he drove past their houses.

The father of the six-year-old girl called the police Friday evening after Greenburg made a number of inappropriate comments to his daughter at the end of their driveway while she was playing outside. He told the child that “I’m going to make you famous” and “I’m going to turn you into a woman” or a “big girl.” Witnesses backed up the claim, including a comment that he was going to pick the girl up and take her to Disney World.

According to the father, Greenburg’s comments have become increasingly bizarre, suggestive, and frequent. The father said his comments were “threatening in nature with sexual innuendos,” according to News4JAX.

The little girl often visits her grandmother in another neighborhood and Greenburg was seen parked outside on Thursday and Friday taking pictures of her. It’s believed that he followed the child since he reportedly does not know the grandmother and has never been invited there.

According to Orlando-based CBS affiliate WKMG, neighbors said the defendant had annoyed many of them with his offensive comments for quite some time and they were happy to see him finally arrested.

“We just had to come together and get it all taken care of as a neighborhood,” neighbor Austin Franco stated. “He got tired of us not doing anything to him or responding to him and he started to bring in the kids into it and that’s when a month, two months, calling the kids’ names, researching the kids’ names, finding out where they lived.”

Another neighbor claimed Greenburg had also made other threats and used racial slurs in the recent past.

“He actually used the N-word toward… myself and another neighbor and he also made threats that day and in the past about what he wants to do us,” a resident identified as Shawn told the TV station.

When deputies tried to talk to Greenburg on Friday evening, he refused to answer the door and told them he would talk to them another day.

The Deltona Crime Suppression Team returned on Saturday with a warrant to have that “talk” with Greenburg and arrested him without incident. Currently, he’s residing at the Volusia County Branch Jail. His bond has been set at $5,000.
