Whistleblower: FBI leadership slow-walked Hunter Biden probe, prevented staff from looking at laptop

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) is asserting that a new whistleblower is claiming that the FBI is slow-walking its investigation into Hunter Biden’s notorious laptop and is telling some employees not to look at the hard drive.

The top Republican sent a letter to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Tuesday detailing the accusations being made by the whistleblower, according to the Washington Examiner. This comes on the heels of disclosures that were made public in July concerning the bureau allegedly labeling Hunter Biden evidence as “disinformation” in 2020.

“Whistleblowers have recently contacted my office to share serious concerns about the FBI’s handling of Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Johnson informed Horowitz, contending that after the FBI obtained the laptop from a Delaware computer shop in late 2019, local FBI leadership told the bureau’s staff that “you will not look at that Hunter Biden laptop” and that the FBI is “not going to change the outcome of the election again.”

According to Johnson, the explosive whistleblower claims “allege that the FBI did not begin to examine the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop until after the 2020 presidential election — potentially a year after the FBI obtained the laptop in Dec. 2019.”

The senator is adamant that the allegations should prompt the DOJ inspector general to finally take action.

“It is clear to me based on numerous credible whistleblower disclosures that the FBI cannot be trusted with the handling of Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Johnson said to Horowitz in the letter. “I call on you to immediately investigate the FBI’s handling of Hunter Biden’s laptop and begin by obtaining the history of the investigative actions taken by the FBI on Hunter Biden’s laptop which should be available on the FBI’s case management system, Sentinel.”

FBI agents who were investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop “opened an assessment which was used by an FBI headquarters team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) charged.

He went on to reveal the claim after his office received “a significant number of protected communications from highly credible whistleblowers” concerning the investigation. The Republican leader stated that one of the communications showed “verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray remarked that he found the allegations “deeply troubling” when he was asked about them in early August.

Grassley and Johnson are demanding that the DOJ and FBI launch a full investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop, including the assertion that President Biden appears to have unwittingly financed his son’s participation in an escort ring that is ostensibly tied to Russia.

Rep. Jim Jordan has also recently come out and said there are 14 whistleblowers coming out against the DOJ and FBI.

More and more whistleblowers are coming out of the woodwork to speak out against the DOJ and FBI.

FBI field offices in Miami, Salt Lake City, Buffalo, and Newark are facing allegations that their upper management coerced agents to sign false affidavits, inflated terrorism caseloads to improve their apparent performance, engaged in illicit sexual activities, or concealed those of others, according to the Washington Times.

“The FBI is completely out of control and its culture and structure needs to change. Not only is the political bias completely out of control and disgustingly obvious, the FBI knows they will not be held accountable for their illegal behavior and misconduct,” one whistleblower charged in a letter to Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-Texas).

She also alleged that FBI Director Christopher Wray ignored her allegations of sexual misconduct, according to Just the News.
