Proud ‘Octomom’ posts back-to-school pic of kids at 13 years old

Controversial mother of 14 Natalie Suleman, dubbed ‘Octomom’ for giving birth to octuplets in 2009, posted a photo of her 8 kids on Instagram to celebrate their return to school.

Now 13 years old, the kids pose happily in front of their home before heading off to their first day of eighth grade. Suleman posted a gushing caption bragging about how “kind, respectful, and helpful” her kids are, and how proud she is of them.

“First day of 8th grade. Be proud of yourselves kids for being kind, respectful, and helpful to all your fellow peers, teachers and staff. You are exceptional role models to the 6th and 7th graders. I love you,” she wrote.

She also posted a side-note for the haters, wondering where her other six children were.

“(Side note to critics: their older siblings did not want me to post a picture on their first day. I respect their choice, so should you).”

Suleman became famous after becoming pregnant with eight children at once via in vitro fertilization. She already had six other children at the time.

Despite her social status being elevated by the publicity of her pregnancy, following the birth of her octuplets she was forced to file bankruptcy. She also did a stint in rehab for a Xanax addiction that stemmed from exhaustion and anxiety, as well as working as a stripper. Suleman describes her life at the time as “rock bottom.”

“I hit rock bottom,” Suleman explained of her sex work. “I sold my soul to the devil — temporarily.”

Judging by her Instagram posts, which now feature happy pictures of herself and her family with the description “God and Family are my life,” things appear to have turned around for Suleman.

Other photos she’s posted include a throwback photo of her and her octuplets on the beach, an image of a happy – if not somewhat chaotic – family.

Many of her pictures feature the famous octuplets, though it appears that the older children prefer not to be posted on her social media. An understandable decision when one remembers the amount of coverage that her pregnancy and the birth of her children received.
