Steve Bannon, Alex Jones commiserate over mutual legal woes and who the political class fears more

As the culture war rages on, independent media outlets and content producers toil away against a seemingly never-ending tide of corporate-backed narratives and agendas meant to sate their own desire for power, and they’re having an impact.

At least that was the assertion when two bastions of free speech reportedly interacted for the first time and, in an exchange of mutual respect, concluded those manipulative powers “are so scared.”

InfoWars founder and podcast host Alex Jones said exactly that when he joined former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon on “War Room: Pandemic” to discuss the release of his upcoming book, “The Great Reset and the War for the World,” and a documentary film about his career, “Alex’s War.”

However, self-promotion took a back seat to adulation when Jones pivoted to praise in his “bucket list” appearance on Bannon’s show.

“It’s hard to come on here, Steve, because I have admired you and you were the brain behind a lot of what [President Donald] Trump was able to do. And you’ve had the most courage of anybody out there standing up to the January 6 fraud and really bringing America back. So it’s hard to come on your show and then talk about myself here,” he expressed.

Jones was particularly struck by Bannon’s stance against responding to the subpoena from the “kangaroo court” of the Jan. 6 committee which resulted in the host being found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress, to which he reacted, “If I go to jail, so be it.”

Jones has struggled with his own legal troubles and as of April, his companies had filed for bankruptcy amid ongoing defamation lawsuits, most notably from the families of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy that Jones had referred to as a false flag operation utilizing crisis actors.

“This is the end of America. So if they can destroy Steve Bannon and Alex Jones, they can destroy you,” Jones went on to say of legal challenges that have crossed the pair. “So I’m just honored and I’m not gushing here just to gush. I mean, I don’t gush – I’m gushing because literally we are in the arena and you and I – and you at a greater level – I got to say, they are so scared of you. And so I admire your work.”

Bannon tried to turn the conversation back to promoting Jones’ work but found himself lauding his guest for his own efforts in the culture war.

“You’re not just a man of action,” he explained. “The guy that they see on that show every night, and the guy they see with the bullhorn, the guy that’s taking leadership and saying, ‘Hey, you know, I’m like in the first tank and we’ll drive this.’ As much and as important as that leadership is, the true thing that you’ve done, which is stunning, if you look at the evidence of doubt of the facts, you are one of the great thinkers of this. That is very rare. You’ve got to go back almost to the Revolutionary generation and see that.”

The one point that Bannon made explicitly clear was, “We’re both in this and there’s no back down…we’re not gonna back down an inch and we can’t.”
