At a time when Americans are suffering under crushing 40-year-high inflation, the bipartisan House of Representatives recklessly approved an $839 billion defense spending plan on Thursday.

Americans are disillusioned by a woke military that is booting thousands of service members over its vaccine mandate. For a nation that is ostensibly bankrupt, this egregious spending is seen by many as nothing short of irresponsible and just this side of criminal.

The National Defense Authorization Act was passed by an overwhelming 329-101 vote in the House.

More than $800 billion will reportedly be given to the Pentagon. Another $30 billion will ironically go to the Department of Energy and $400 million will be doled out to other federal agencies. It is expected to pass in the Senate.

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL), who is the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, gushed over the bill.

“I am glad to see the FY23 NDAA pass the House with overwhelming bipartisan support, However, our work is not done — we will continue to improve upon this bill in conference to ensure that this legislation gives our warfighters what they need,” he stated, which translates to even more spending and in the end, the implementation of more woke policies.

He called the bill the “definition of a bipartisan bill.”

The U.S. is not involved in a major conflict following President Biden’s catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan. We are not at war with Russia but we are sending billions of dollars to Ukraine as well as weaponry. Many believe that is fiscally suicidal, considering the state we find ourselves in.

Over 600 amendments were voted on for the bill. It contains $1 billion for Ukraine, almost a billion for four EC-37B Compass Call electronic warfare aircraft for the Space Force, more high-tech Navy ships, a pay raise for soldiers due to inflation, and other items that the nation can ill afford at this time due to the Democrats’ spending spree.

In fact, shockingly… the funding was more than Biden had asked for.

Not everyone lined up at the trough for funding. Sixty-two Republicans and 39 Democrats voted against the package, albeit for vastly different reasons. Some Republicans are demanding fiscal responsibility and they are incensed over the vaccine mandate. Radical Democrats believe the amount wasn’t high enough and want even more spending for what they call a “safety net.”

Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) called the bill “reckless” and “woke.”

“Business as usual in Washington is not good enough – Congress cannot continue to rubber-stamp massive spending binges with nearly zero accountability. This bill does nothing to end Biden’s vaccine mandate, which is an intentional purge of thousands of our best and bravest troops,” he declared.

He bluntly asserted that Congress should be spending money on securing the border and increasing ICE funding instead of “foreign misadventures.”

“As inflation continues to rage, shoveling money into the furnace of America Last foreign entanglements will only make our military weaker and our country more vulnerable,” he proclaimed.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) agreed with the statement.

“I refuse to vote for a defense authorization bill that fires healthy, qualified service members because they won’t get a politicized injection,” he stated.

“I refuse to vote to authorize $850 billion — $82 billion more than last year’s NDAA when our country is $30 trillion in debt — for the Pentagon to brainwash our troops with anti-American ideology and pursue fantasy ‘green’ energy programs,” the fiery Texan added.

“The purpose of the Department of Defense is to protect our nation’s interests by maintaining a lethal force ready to engage our enemies at a moment’s notice. These harmful provisions do not advance these goals; they make us less safe,” he concluded.
