‘Mission accomplished!’ Randi Weingarten slammed for whining about classrooms being ‘too politicized’

Teachers Union President Randi Weingarten was thrashed on social media for her utter lack of self-awareness evidenced in a tweet she sent out Monday whining that schools have become “too politicized.”

Weingarten had just touted a press release from the one-million-member strong American Federation of Teachers (AFT) that reported a 34-point increase in job dissatisfaction among teachers in a new survey.

She also asserted that nearly 90 percent of teachers said schools have become “too politicized” over the past year as if she had nothing to do with that fact whatsoever.

“Nearly 9 out of 10 respondents say schools have become too politicized, following a year of political attacks on teachers waged by politicians stoking culture wars and banning books for political gain,” Weingarten accused.

According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, “More than three-quarters of the 2,400 teachers surveyed by the American Federation of Teachers said they are dissatisfied with their current job conditions, the biggest share in data going back eight years. One in three K-12 teachers said their workplace conditions had worsened in the past five years, citing stagnant wages and limitations on topics that they can teach.”

“Teachers feel under siege,” Weingarten asserted, noting increasing responsibilities and a cycle of worsening conditions as more teachers quit among the reasons why sentiment has deteriorated in the past school year. She purposely did not mention her actions or Democrat policies which are at the heart of the teacher problem.

Twitter users pummeled Weingarten. They were joined by school choice advocate Corey Deangelis, who in turn tweeted headlines of teacher unions being intrinsically involved in politics.

RNC Rapid Response Director Tommy Pigott appropriately tweeted, “Randi Weingarten and the AFT fought to keep schools closed, defended teaching CRT, and influenced guidelines at Biden’s CDC … if she wants to know why Americans think schools are politized [sic] she should look in the mirror.”

“The head of the teachers union, who called for divisive programs like CRT to be a part of our nation’s curriculum, is now upset that people are upset about it,” Mary Vought, a conservative PR professional, noted.

RealClearInvestigations Senior Writer Mark Hemingway asserted, “AFT spends millions in recycled tax dollars to fund campaigns every election. According to Open Secrets, 99.99% of that money goes to Democrats. But now schools are too politicized!”

“Mission accomplished for Randi and her woke union,” Washington Free Beacon contributor Noah Pollak snarked.

“Resign,” Committee to Unleash Prosperity president Phil Kerpen tersely remarked.

Weingarten notoriously resisted efforts to open schools following COVID lockdowns in 2020. She threatened strikes unless the federal government forked over funding for “protective” gear. In 2021, she about-faced, lied, and claimed she had never been against opening schools.

She has also endorsed Democrat candidates and attacked Republican politicians such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for promoting open school policies.

In May of 2022, she was still requesting more COVID funding in schools. Reports at that point had already surfaced that portions of the money allotted to schools for pandemic recovery were allegedly being used to promote Critical Race Theory.
