Joe Biden and Democrats owe border agents cleared of false whipping charges a public apology!

Nearly a year after four Custom and Border Protection (CBP) agents were falsely accused of whipping illegal immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in Del Rio, Texas, an official report has cleared them of those allegations, and now Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is calling on President Joe Biden to set the record straight as “their careers may be ruined.”

Paxton appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” where he told guest host Gregg Jarrett that Biden’s response to the allegations in September 2021 was a political one that called for an apology. As previously reported, Jarrett had briefly detailed how CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) had released their 500+ page report which left CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus to state that there was “no evidence Border Patrol agents involved in this incident struck any person with their reins intentionally or otherwise.”

In response to the findings, the AG stated, “There’s no doubt this was political. And it’s really unfortunate for these border agents who’ve given their lives to securing our border and defending Americans. And here they are being punished, they should be rewarded. They should be taken care of.”

“Instead, their careers may be ruined,” Paxton went on as they may face up to 14 days of unpaid suspension, “and they’ve been humiliated in front of the entire American public. And I just think it’s really wrong. I would expect instead that Joe Biden and some of these political leaders should come out and actually apologize to these guys for what they’ve been through.”

Paxton wasn’t alone in his condemnation of Biden and his Democratic colleagues for the demonization of Border Patrol agents left dealing with the mess that the president has exacerbated for failing to properly address the immigration crisis. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) reacted on Facebook with a statement to that effect.

“Our brave Border Patrol agents work to secure our border every day despite the fact that President Biden makes their mission more difficult and more dangerous because of his unconscionable support for a wide-open southern border,” McCarthy wrote. “Their reputation was smeared by President Biden, Vice President Harris, and their allies in the media – and they should all apologize to these Border Patrol agents.”

“These agents were cleared of criminal wrongdoing months ago, but instead of admitting they were wrong, the Biden administration is doubling down on baselessly attacking these agents to perpetuate their open-border agenda. Rather than disparage the men and women tasked with protecting our border,” the congressman went on, “President Biden should give them the tools they need and deserve to secure our southern border once and for all.”

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) condemned Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as well for his failure on the border in a press release that read, “Secretary Mayorkas has proven he is willing to put the depraved media’s narrative ahead of the truth. He doesn’t deserve to lead the good men and women of Border Patrol who sacrifice every day for our country’s security and should be impeached. For 10 months DHS hasn’t even been willing to answer basic questions about the ‘whipping’ incident last September. I even sent letters as recently as January and June and never received any substantive answers.”

“There was never any criminal activity…But this administration can’t miss a chance to destroy the morale of our overrun, hardworking Border Patrol for political gain, and it issued disciplinary action anyway to finish off one of the most despicable displays of leadership seen from any cabinet Secretary,” Roy added.”
