Method acting has long been celebrated as a technique for providing the audience with a truly authentic performance, but if actor Mark Hamill’s latest tweet is any indication, he may have plunged too deep into the DC comics universe and found himself in Bizarro World.
Best known for his iconic portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” franchise, Hamill has remained outspoken on political issues, posturing to the left as Hollywood celebrities so often do. But his foray into the debate surrounding the overturn of Roe v. Wade was anything but heroic as he embraced his more villainous persona.
“We Will Adopt Your Baby” Hamill captioned an image of the Joker, whom he first began voicing in 1992 for “Batman: The Animated Series,” with his deranged paramour Harley Quinn.

The attempted joke drew as much laughter as would be expected from the “clown prince of crime” and was truly telling of the twisted logic that progressives employ in order to support their worldview.
According to the World Health Organization, there are approximately 48 million couples and 186 million individuals globally who suffer from infertility and there are as many as two million couples seeking to adopt in the United States right now. But those people who wish to provide a loving home to an otherwise unwanted child are more villainous than the roughly 92 percent of pregnancies that are terminated electively by Hamill’s estimation.

Notably, Hamill had allegedly pressured his son’s ex-girlfriend to abort her pregnancy.

Stepping aside from the serious side of the debate considering a serious argument isn’t being presented, it did not go unnoticed that the actor was decrying adoption when his career was built on playing a character raised in an adoptive home.
The Libertarian Party Mises Caucus shared an image of the actors who portrayed Luke Skywalker’s aunt Beru and uncle Owen in the original and prequel trilogies of the franchise who raised him from infancy.

JT Lewis, a school safety advocate, took the reference one step further and pointed out Luke’s sister Leia, played by the late Carrie Fisher, had also been adopted after the characters’ mother Padmé Amidala, played by Natalie Portman, had died following childbirth.

Hamill wasn’t alone in ridiculing pro-life advocates in support of adopting as many on the left took to social media to malign their intentions.

Among them was another DC universe alum, actress Lynda Carter, who is perhaps best known for playing Wonder Woman. She drew attention to the trauma of handing over a child after giving birth but seemed to have no qualms about the impact terminating that child could have on the mother.

She then later came to the defense of Hamill for his post and wrote, “Star Wars and Wonder Woman are both about fighting for a better world. I guess they only like seeing that kind of thing in fiction.”

Ironically, the mark was missed again, because Hamill’s first reference to his animated alter ego left out the fact that even the Joker fathered a child with Harley Quinn that wasn’t aborted in the comics.
