How many Americans now want Biden to prioritize tackling inflation over helping Ukraine fight Russia?

Americans are far more interested in inflation being tamed in the United States than helping Ukraine in its war with Russia and they are demanding that President Biden provide relief from the crushing burden of rising prices.

For Biden’s part, he’s vowing that the nation will be making sacrifices “as long as it takes” for Ukraine. But a new poll shows that he is increasingly out of touch with the American public.

A YouGov poll shows that a devastating 40 percent of Americans think we should be getting inflation under control rather than throwing billions at Ukraine in the war with Russia. Only 12 percent think the U.S. should be more involved in the war and 31 percent think we should keep our involvement at the current level.

A majority of Americans, 53 percent, now believe that inflation and remedying the energy crisis should be Biden’s primary focus. Only 8 percent think that defeating Russia should be at the top of America’s concerns.

A stunning 46 percent oppose the United States becoming directly involved in the Ukraine conflict. Twenty-one percent don’t support or oppose involvement and 23 percent think we should become militarily involved according to the poll.

Biden has vowed that we won’t put boots on the ground in Ukraine. But he’s also stated that gas prices won’t come down until Putin is defeated.

A majority in the poll no longer approve of the way the president is handling the Ukraine war. Thirty-six percent still approve.

So far, the U.S. has dumped almost $60 billion into the Ukraine conflict as inflation spirals ever upwards and gas, food, lodging, and healthcare become unaffordable for many Americans. Biden approved $5.5 billion for Ukraine and Congress pitched in another $54 billion. That doesn’t include billions in weapons and equipment coughed up for the war.

On top of that, the competence of the Pentagon is in question over its handling of the billions in funds given to Ukraine along with tracking the thousands of weapons being handed over.

Gas is now averaging above $5 a gallon in most parts of the nation, making it difficult for many Americans to even make it to work while liberals applaud it as necessary for their green agenda. Inflation has rocketed to a 40-year high as well. Families are having to choose between food and transportation or paying the bills and anger is mounting over the situation.

At a press conference on Thursday, Biden was asked how long Americans will have to endure untenable inflation and soaring costs.

“How long is it fair to expect American drivers and drivers around the world to pay that premium for this war?” one reporter asked the president at the close of the NATO meeting in Madrid.

“As long as it takes so Russia cannot, in fact, defeat Ukraine and move beyond Ukraine. This is a critical, critical position for the world,” Biden glibly replied. “I think there’s a lot of things we can do and we will do, but the bottom line is: Ultimately, the reason why gas prices are up is because of Russia. Russia, Russia, Russia.”

While Biden blames the Russians for inflation, Americans are flatly laying the blame at his feet which spells very bad news for Democrats in the midterm elections.

Even more disingenuous is Biden accusing Republicans who are slamming him for high gas prices of not supporting Ukraine.

“The American people understood. The American people rose to the moment. The American people did what they always have done: defend freedom around the world. They chose to stand with the people of Ukraine,” Biden said during a speech while calling for a three-month gas tax holiday that will provide little relief.

“So for all those Republicans in Congress criticizing me today for high gas prices in America, are you now saying we were wrong to support Ukraine? Are you saying we were wrong to stand up to Putin? Are you saying that we would rather have lower gas prices in America and Putin’s iron fist in Europe? I don’t believe that,” Biden declared.

The president is set to once again go crawling to Saudi Arabia for more oil as he steadfastly refuses to allow coal, gas, and oil production on American soil. And according to reports, he will be rebuffed yet again as the Saudis allegedly can’t stand him.

“It’s not about Saudi Arabia. It’s in Saudi Arabia,” Biden noted claiming he’s going to the conference in July, not to meet with Saudi Arabia officials. It is arguably a denial without a distinction. “I guess I will see the king and the Crown Prince. But that’s, that’s not the meeting I’m going to. They’ll be part of a much larger meeting.”

“No, I’m not going to ask them. I’m going to ask — there’s — all the Gulf States are meeting,” Biden claimed when addressing whether he would ask the Crown Prince for more oil according to a White House transcript. “I hope we see them in their own interest concluding that makes sense to do.”

“I’ve indicated to them that I thought they should be increasing oil production generically, not to the Saudis, particularly,” Biden claimed, attempting to deflect from his abject groveling.

“America is better positioned to lead the world than we ever have been,” he said at the NATO summit in Madrid. “We have the strongest economy in the world, [and] our inflation rates are lower than other nations in the world.”

Americans would like a word with the president concerning that assertion.
