Fmr White House lawyer spots another REALLY big lie in Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony

Former Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony before the January 6 committee is being called into question, and a handwritten note is at the center of it all.

While the political world was rocked by the claims Hutchinson made of former President Donald Trump, some people in the know are saying it doesn’t add up.

Former Trump White House lawyer Eric Herschmann is disputing Hutchinson’s claim that she penned a handwritten note that was a sort of statement for the former president to release on January 6. It read “Anyone who entered the Capitol without proper authority should leave immediately.”

Representative Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., would question Hutchinson on the note, and specifically whether she wrote it herself.

“And it’s written on the chief of staff note card, but that’s your handwriting, Ms. Hutchinson?”

Hutchinson would answer affirmatively.

“That’s my handwriting,” she confirmed, adding that Herschmann was the one who suggested the “without proper authority” section.

But shortly after this, a representative for Herschmann would tell ABC News that it was he who penned the note, and they are willing to testify to that.

“The handwritten note that Cassidy Hutchinson testified was written by her was in fact written by Eric Herschmann on January 6, 2021 evening. All sources with direct knowledge and law enforcement have and will confirm that it was written by Mr. Herschmann,” read the statement.

When confronted with this information, the committee effectively brushed it off and demanded people not focus on the witness who potentially lied twice during her testimony, but on the fact that the note was written at all:

“The committee has done its diligence on this and found Ms. Hutchinson’s account of this matter credible. While we understand that she and Mr. Herschmann may have differing recollections of who wrote the note, what’s ultimately important is that both White House officials believed that the President should have immediately instructed his supporters to leave the Capitol building.”

“The note memorialized this. But Mr. Trump did not take that action at the time,” the spokesperson for the committee said.

Perhaps suggesting that Hutchinson’s testimony may not be all that reliable is the fact another section is also coming under fire.

During her Tuesday deposition, Hutchinson also claimed that Trump lunged toward Bobby Engel and White House deputy chief of staff Tony Ornato when they would not drive him to the Capitol on January 6.

As BizPac Review reported:

“The president reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engels grabbed his arm, said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing. We’re not going to the Capitol’.” Hutchinson added. “Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel and Mr., when Mr. Ornato had recounted the story to me, he had motioned towards his clavicles.”

However, not only is Trump himself denying that ever took place, but so is Ornato, who allegedly relayed the information to Hutchinson.

Secret Service agents, as well as the driver of the presidential limo all, claim to be willing to testify that those events never occurred.

“A source close to the Secret Service tells me both Bobby Engel, the lead agent, and the presidential limousine/SUV driver are prepared to testify under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel,” reported ABC News’ Peter Alexander.

“Tony Ornato is denying that he told Cassidy Hutchinson Trump grabbed the steering wheel in presidential vehicle on 1/6 or lunged at a fellow agent, a USSS official tells [CNN],” reported Gabby Orr hours later.

It is unclear whether Hutchinson’s vivid testimony will maintain its impact in light of new information from those actually involved.
