Tucker simplifies SCOTUS abortion ruling debate: It returns power to the people. Period.

After 49 years of opposition and nearly seven weeks of waiting since the leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft majority opinion, Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court Friday leaving conservatives rejoicing while the progressive narratives began to cannibalize themselves in defense of democracy.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson zeroed in on the inherent failings of Democrat arguments during his opening monologue of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Friday when he praised the ruling that allows voters “to decide how they want to live.”

The 6-3 ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned the 1973 ruling of Roe v. Wade and reverted the power to pass laws on abortion to the individual states.

“This particular ruling dramatically reduces the power of unelected judges to dictate the details of the lives of millions of Americans and returns that power to voters,” Carlson detailed. “Voters get to decide how they want to live.”

“After nearly 50 years, the single shoddiest, most destructive Supreme Court decision in American history has finally been struck down…So, pandemonium ensued immediately,” the Fox News host stated.

For members of the left who have pontificated on the will of the people while claiming the slimmest of majorities in Congress to be a mandate to pass their radical agenda, the idea that the protections of the 10th Amendment that set forth each state to be its own proving ground for policies through representative government would actually be followed was too much to bear.

“That’s an extreme ideology that upsets the balance of power somehow? We thought that was the whole premise of our system,” Carlson argued. “We thought that was democracy and yet the very people who’ve been lecturing us for years about democracy — ‘it’s the end of democracy’ — are horrified by the return of democracy. They’re telling us the legitimacy of our institutions is at risk and yet they cannot allow voters to have a say in how they live. What does that tell you?”

“It tells you they care about power, not popular support,” the host surmised.

Journalist and podcast host Megyn Kelly made a similar argument to Carlson’s in support of the bipartisan approval of the court’s ruling.

“Whether you are pro-abortion or not, this was the right decision legally,” she wrote. “You may not like it, but you were lied to by the Roe & Casey justices who told you abortion was a constitutional right. This Court set things straight & now it’s where it belongs: in the hands of the ppl.”

But, as Carlson asserted, opposition to the ruling was not founded on firm principles, but rather on their own distaste for the Democratic Republic set forth in the Constitution.

“They’re afraid to put their ideas to the test of a vote and that’s why the Justice Department — which no longer dispenses justice, instead it works on behalf of the Democratic Party — allowed thugs to gather outside the homes of the Supreme Court justices for the last several weeks in violation of federal law in an effort to intimidate them into not doing what they did today, and that’s why today you saw several elected members of Congress call for insurrection,” he said.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) stood outside the Supreme Court Friday and railed, “To hell with the Supreme Court, we will defy them!”

“If you cared about democracy and wanted democracy to continue,” Carlson asserted, “you would demand that all laws in the United States be passed by elected legislatures.”

So as the January 6 committee continues to a witch hunt against any American that may have been near the Capitol as the 2020 presidential election was being certified and the building was breached, there will likely be no consequence for the Waters of the Democratic Party whose continued incitement could readily be associated with protests like that which occurred in Arizona where the state Senate was disrupted by extremists attempting to disrupt the legislative process.

“Don’t lecture us ever again about the sanctity of our institutions, about our norms,” Carlson concluded, “because you clearly don’t care about them at all. What you care about is power.”
