The co-founder of Women for Trump, who also helped organize the Jan. 6 rally, is allegedly advising the GOP to distance itself from the former president because he’s “disconnected from the base.”
Amy Kremer is a Tea Party activist and a longtime supporter of former President Donald Trump. She is slamming him for endorsing Katie Britt in Alabama who beat Rep. Mo Brooks Tuesday. In the beginning, Trump had backed Brooks but later rescinded his endorsement after the representative urged people to move on from the 2020 election.
“Donald Trump is disconnected from the base. … It’s time for those of us in the movement to get back to basics, back to our first principles,” Kremer told Politico during an interview. “We were here long before President Trump came along, and we’re going to be here long afterward.”
“I don’t know what has happened there. I think he’s getting bad advice from the people around him, and I think it’s unfortunate,” she continued.
THANK YOU, Alabama!
My family and I are truly grateful. Words cannot express our thanks. The future of our great state is bright! #alsen pic.twitter.com/MpBDX15dUB

Kremer, along with her daughter, Kylie Jane Kremer, put on the Jan. 6 “Stop the Steal” rally at the Ellipse near the White House and is an ardent supporter of Mo Brooks for the Senate. She asserted that Trump was “way wrong” in rescinding his endorsement of the conservative Republican. Instead, he bestowed it on Britt, and in a state where Trump is massively popular, his endorsement made all the difference.
“I’m on the ground in Alabama & Trump got this way wrong,” Kremer tweeted. “People are very angry at him. … I’m not sure they will get over this. They view it as a slap in the face & a disconnect from the [people]. I get it…”
“But oh boy…it’s bad. Either way, there is going to need to be a lot of damage control,” she added.

“Cheney, Kinzinger, McConnell AND Donald Trump’s endorsed candidate won tonight in Alabama. They say that politics makes for strange bed fellows—But the thought of Donald Trump, McConnell, Cheney and Kinzinger in bed together is too much for me to wrap my head around,” Kremer wrote in another tweet.

On Tuesday, she called Trump “the best president of my lifetime,” according to Newsweek.
“President Trump is wrong in his endorsement of Mitch McConnell’s candidate in the Alabama Senate election,” she wrote in a letter, claiming to “love President Trump” while calling him “the greatest.”
Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) continued to support Brooks after Trump pulled his endorsement, according to The Hill.
Her comments followed Trump blasting House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for not tapping additional Republicans to sit on the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 protest after Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) rejected some of his choices.
“I think in retrospect [McCarthy should’ve put Republicans on] to just have a voice. The Republicans don’t have a voice. They don’t even have anything to say,” Trump told Punchbowl News in an interview. “I think it would’ve been far better to have Republicans [on the panel]. [Jim Banks and Jim Jordan] were great. They were great and would’ve been great to have them. But when Pelosi wrongfully didn’t allow them, we should’ve picked other people. We have a lot of good people in the Republican Party.”
