One enraged Texas resident waited twelve hours on Tuesday to say his piece on the Uvalde school shooting and then he hammered “woke” Democrats for failing to protect children.
Bradley Hodges shredded state lawmakers for a lack of response following the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, according to Fox News.
The Senate Special Committee to Protect All Texans convened for twelve hours to discuss how to make schools safer. Then they held a special session for public comment. Most people got tired and fed up and left long before the twelve hours were up, but not Hodges. He was going to have his say and make officials listen.
“Is there any institutional bias in the Texas school system against implementing objectively reasonable protective measures?” Hodges asked officials during the session that was open to public comment.

“Why are school admins [administrators] refusing to take protecting kids seriously?” he demanded.
The angered resident wanted to know why state lawmakers were quick to implement lockdowns during the pandemic and implement mandates but were slow to take steps to counter gun violence in schools.
“But they can’t be bothered with locking a door?” he incredulously asked, shaking his head in utter frustration and disgust.
“That’s the opposite of school safety,” he proclaimed. “That is child endangerment on an institutional level.”
He went on to declare that the problem “has been allowed to fester for way too long.”
He railed that “more violence, escalated violence, and repeat mass casualty incidents” would ensue due to the inaction of leaders.
Then he tore into the left, blaming them for the bloodshed. He accused “radical Democrats” of employing “woke ideologies” in school curriculums to “sow more division, hate, and mental illness.”
“Woke is in complete control of this school system,” he bluntly asserted, “and it is producing violent, deadly results.”
Meanwhile, the mayor of Uvalde, Texas, Don McLaughlin, was incensed over the botched actions of the police and the constantly shifting information over their inaction that day as 19 children and two teachers were slaughtered by a psychotic killer. He lost it, telling residents at a city council meeting he’s tired of being kept in the dark about what evidence has been uncovered.

Uvalde mayor Don McLaughlin says he hasn’t been briefed once on the status of the shooting investigation and isn’t getting any info from DPS or Gov. Abbott’s office, adding:

He announced that the school will be razed after the horrific incident.
“You could never ask a child to go back or a teacher to go back to that school. Ever,” he remarked.
McLaughlin ripped into the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and its leader, Col. Steven McCraw over the shooting. The Texas Rangers, which is a DPS agency, are leading the investigation into the shooting and McLaughlin told residents he was upset that he and other city officials were never briefed on its progress. He went on to accuse McCraw of making misleading statements to help distance the actions of the state troopers and Texas Rangers who responded to the shooting.
“Colonel McCraw has continued to, whether you want to call it … lie, leak, mislead or mistake information in order to distance his own troopers and Rangers from the response. Every briefing he leaves out the number of his own officers and Rangers that were on scene that day,” McLaughlin charged.

For McCraw’s part, he appeared earlier in the day in front of lawmakers and pummeled the response from law enforcement. He eviscerated Uvalde school district police chief Pedro “Pete” Arredondo.
“There is compelling evidence that the law enforcement response to the attack at Robb Elementary was an abject failure and antithetical to everything we’ve learned over the last two decades since the Columbine massacre,” McCraw informed the Texas Senate Special Committee to Protect All Texans in Austin.

“Three minutes after the subject entered the West building, there was a sufficient number of armed officers wearing body armor to isolate, distract and neutralize the subject,” he added. “The only thing stopping the hallway of dedicated officers from entering rooms 111 and 112 was the on-scene commander, who decided to place the lives of officers before the lives of children.”
