In the culmination of a brief high-speed police chase, a doorbell camera captured dramatic video of an out-of-control SUV flipping over several times and coming to a halt in front of a residence after it appeared to collide with another vehicle.
As police cruisers surrounded the SUV, the two occupants then fled the vehicle through the broken windshield before they were apprehended by state and Rochester cops after a brief foot pursuit in the incident on Tuesday afternoon that occurred in Rochester, New York.
The duo, ages 21 and 19, reportedly only suffered minor injuries in the crash and were treated at a local hospital before being taken to the Monroe County Jail. No one else was apparently harmed in the encounter.
“It looked like a movie, like a scene from a movie,” a neighborhood resident told Rochester First about the viral video. “And I heard some screeching, so I could hear the car accident, and I ran to the front of the driveway, and that when I (saw) the car flip over right in front of the driveway.”
The news outlet added that “He thought this was a run-of-the-mill accident and rushed to help — until, ‘the police officers pulled up and they came out with their weapons drawn and so that made me want to — well, I just ran away,’ he said.”
After first being posted to Reddit, the footage has garnered about five million views on Twitter alone.

Cops had initially tried to pull the vehicle over for an as-yet unreported reason, but the driver allegedly failed to stop.
“As a result of the investigation, authorities recovered a rifle loaded with 30 rounds and a 9mm Ruger loaded with eight rounds,” Rochester First claimed.
The suspects reportedly each face two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
The footage prompted much commentary on Twitter of all kinds. Here is just a small sampling:
This scene would have taken a Hollywood director 3 days and $5 million to get right.

First question – was this a pit maneuver that caused this? Second – What did these two do? If they did use pm and it was over something dumb, what happens with all the damage that causes? What if they died? Or bystanders died?

People keep saying that the police officers caused them to crash but they clearly swerved too fast while fleeing and got flipped due to the car in the other lane. It’s obvious that no police officer caused this accident to happen. pic.twitter.com/ND3kYFOMn6

Not Justified force? You can clearly see the car is evading police and goes wide making the turn in the intersection, hitting one car and flipping. Now, you can argue they should not high speed chase, but once they crash how is chasing them on foot excessive force?

Whoa. I didn’t know SUVs could sail. Weeeeeee….
And why carry the K9 pupper by the neck? 😠— Jen S (@jens2763) June 16, 2022
I am worried about the tree that got hit by the dopers driving the car. Is it ok?

Police chases need to stop. ASAP. They are dangerous and not worth it. Innocent people get hurt or killed and the damage to property is staggering.

All suspects are presumed innocent until or unless they are convicted in a court of law of any alleged crimes.
