Stelter ‘down to weeks if not days’ at CNN, causing internal turmoil at network, source claims

CNN host Brian Stelter may be in search of new employment if a recent rumor turns out to be true.

According to Jon Nicosia, who has held managing editing positions at publications such as Mediaite, Independent Journal Review and the Washington Examiner, a “source” claims that Stelter’s days are numbered at the outlet as it seeks to polish its image in the wake of Jeff Zucker’s resignation.

“SOURCE: Stelter is ‘down to weeks if not days’ left at CNN. They go on ‘He is everything that reminds the new owners of the Zucker era they desperately want to get past’ – More to come,” Nicosia tweeted Wednesday.

A follow-up tweet claimed, “Management is confident Stelter is the one sharing the internal pushback to fellow media reporters while simultaneously stirring discontent within the ranks.”

While nothing is confirmed beyond the claims of anonymous sources, this new information is in keeping with CNN’s new shift in outlook.

As American Wire previously reported, CNN’s new boss Chris Licht is reportedly discouraging hosts from continuously using the phrase “the big lie” to describe former President Donald Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen. Though this was not mandated among the staff, Licht’s preferences may very well become law at a time when it’s clear jobs are on the line.

Social media was quick to react to the news Stelter may be gracing unemployment lines in the near future:
