WH spox rebuffs Don Lemon on Biden’s mental stamina: ‘That’s not a question that we should be even asking’

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed the idea that President Joe Biden may not run for reelection in 2024 with speculation mounting over a New York Times report on growing concern among Democrats that the deeply unpopular leader could drag his entire party down, scoffing at the idea during an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon.

As panic sets in for a party that in its brief period in control of the federal government has seen its radical climate change policies bring a national average of $5 a gallon gasoline, skyrocketing food prices, and a sense of unease and uncertainty in the country, some have suggested that Biden is an “anchor that should be cut loose in 2024,” and Lemon tried to pin Jean-Pierre down on whether the 79-year-old has the mental stamina for another grueling campaign.

After playing a clip of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the intellectual driving force of the modern Democratic Party who declined to go on the record with her support of  a 2024 Biden run,  Lemon asked, “Is the administration worried that there are Democrats who are not openly endorsing the president come 2024, even though you can’t say for sure…?”

“I really can’t get… I can’t get into that,” the press secretary responded.

“All I can say is what the president intends to do, what the president plans to do, and look, at the end of the day Don, our focus is to deliver for the American people,” Jean-Pierre replied as she rambled on about Biden’s track record in office, taking a shot at Republican Senator Rick Scott who called for Biden’s resignation in a new ad.

Lemon wouldn’t let her off the hook.

“But the concern is, the president during interviews where he doesn’t seem to answer questions directly or at times succinctly, there is his approval ratings, according to the latest Gallup poll, 41 percent of Americans approve of Biden’s job as president,” the CNN host said.  “So how does he and you because you are the spokesperson at the White House plan to assure voters that he is still the best candidate to beat Trump? Is he at his best right now?”

The history-making first black lesbian immigrant to hold the press secretary’s job claimed what “Americans love about President Biden is he’s a straight shooter” and “he says it as the way he sees it,” as she ducked the question.

Lemon persisted, “Does the president have the stamina, physically and mentally do you think to continue on even after 2024?”

“Don!” Jean-Pierre exclaimed.

“You’re asking me this question, oh my gosh, he’s the president of the United States,” she laughed. “You know, he… I can’t even keep up with him, we just got back from New Mexico. We just got back from California.”

“That is not a question that we should be even asking,” Jean-Pierre said, suggesting that such questions should be off-limits. “Just look at the work he does. And look how he’s delivering for the American public.”

She then dismissed The New York Times report as “hearsay” and “salacious” and “that’s not what we care about” despite the concerns about his ability raised by the 50 Democratic officials along with disappointed voters who backed Biden against Trump and all they got for their vote was economic misery.

The New York Times story is a sign of how quickly things are crumbling for Biden now that the grim reality has begun to sink in that his presidency has been an abject disaster with no end in sight for the pain and suffering that his policies have already inflicted upon Americans.
