Rapper leads ‘F**k NYPD’ chant hours after having gun charges dropped without explanation

Rapper Roddy Ricch, whose birth name is Rodrick Moore, had been busted by police on felony gun possession charges, only to have them dropped with no explanation. Hours after his release, Moore would go on to lead an anti-New York Police Department chant during an on-stage performance.

Moore was arrested alongside Carlos Collins and Michael Figueroa at a security checkpoint outside the Governor’s Ball music festival Saturday night. Police claim the trio was in possession of a loaded Canik 9mm, which was allegedly hidden under the front seat of the Cadillac Escalade they were traveling in. A “large-capacity” magazine loaded with just nine rounds was also discovered.

While both of these would amount to felony possession charges, Moore and Collins were released the following day with no official explanation from the NYPD or Queens District Attorney’s Office. However, according to New York Post, a “law enforcement source” claims that Figueroa was in possession of the firearm, but stashed it under the seat when the vehicle was searched by a security guard. This could explain why he was the only one not released.

Moore was unable to perform at the Ball due to the arrest but was out in time for the Hot 97’s Summer Jam in New Jersey, where he led a chant of “F**k NYPD” with the crowd.
