‘I am the gun’: Panic ensues at DC anti-gun rally after man storms stage, stampede narrowly averted

Chaos briefly erupted at a Washington D.C. anti-Second Amendment rally when the event was disrupted by a man who reportedly attempted to charge the stage, sending attendees into a panic and nearly causing a stampede.

The March For Our Lives rally which took place on the National Mall on Saturday was one of numerous protests staged nationwide to call for strict new restrictions on law-abiding gun owners after the bloody massacre at a Texas elementary school last month when a deranged shooter murdered 19 children and 2 adult teachers, spurring the Biden administration and Democrats into action to capitalize on the tragedy.

According to one report, someone yelled “gun shot” which sent people in the vicinity running in fear for their lives, the scary moment was captured on video.

Erica Ford, an architect of the New York City Crisis Management System who was speaking at the time called for the crowd to stay calm, averting what could have been a dangerous situation.

“Do not run! Please do not run. There is no issue here,” she implored the terrified protesters.

In a video posted to Twitter, the individual who caused the disruption shouted “I am the gun” and “I’m not shooting the school,” as he was forcefully led away by security.

The U.S. Park Police took to Twitter to advise that the situation was under control, “An individual interfered with a permitted event on the Washington Monument grounds. The individual was detained by officers. No weapons were involved and there is no risk to the public.”

The D.C. March for Our Lives rally which drew tens of thousands of attendees featured speeches from survivors of the 2018 school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida that claimed the lives of 17 people, including David Hogg who riled up the crowd with an angry demand for stronger gun control.

Also on Saturday, Parkland survivor Emma Gonzalez delivered a rant that was peppered with profanity and veered from gun control into LGBTQ+ issues and fearmongering about white supremacists.

“You say that queer and trans identities are immoral for children but somehow conversations about what to do when a white supremacist terrorist inevitably to kill us,” she raved. “You say that children are the future and you never f**king listen to what we say once we’re old enough to disagree with you, you decaying degenerates.”

President Joe Biden who has declared war on the Second Amendment tweeted his support for the rally.

Today, young people around the country once again march with @AMarch4OurLives to call on Congress to pass commonsense gun safety legislation supported by the majority of Americans and gun owners,” he said. “I join them by repeating my call to Congress: do something.”

The Democrat-controlled House passed its draconian gun control package last week and intense pressure is being brought to bear against Senate Republicans with celebrities, professional sports teams and athletes and protests like March for Our Lives demanding that law-abiding gun owners be forced to pay the price for the actions of a few murderous lunatics.
