The release of the latest economic numbers is yet another testament to President Joe Biden’s policy failures with inflation up a whopping 8.6 percent in May, the highest level in 41 years and true to form, the nation’s hapless leader refused to take responsibility for the cataclysm that he has unleashed on the nation, blaming it on Vladimir Putin, a convenient scapegoat for all that ails America.
Biden’s putrid performance and his suggestion that he is powerless to “do something” about crushing prices mark a new low for U.S. leadership now that “the adults are back in charge” and his shameless gaslighting is a message to all Americans that no help is on the way from the White House.
In California for the Summit of the Americas, Biden delivered his speech from the Port of Los Angeles where he responded to the just-released consumer price index with an excuse that was the equivalent of ‘the dog ate my homework’ but sadly, it’s all that he has.
According to Biden, “Today’s inflation report confirmed what Americans already know, Putin’s price hike is hitting America hard.”
“Gas prices at the pump, energy and food prices account for half of the monthly price increases since May. Inflation outside of energy and food, what the economists call core inflation moderated the last two months, not enough, but it moderated, it has come down, and we need it to come down much more quickly,” he said. “My administration is going to continue everything we can to lower the prices for the American people, and the Congress has to act, and they have been of late.”
But far fewer people are buying Biden’s malarkey, including Fox News contributor and former White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove who stuck a fork into the big lie of the “Putin price hike” on Friday’s edition of “America’s Newsroom” where he broke it all down in detail.

“Let’s put this back in context a little bit,” Rove said. “In January of 21, when Joe Biden comes into office, the inflation rate was 1.4 percent, that’s below the target set by the Federal Reserve. By April, after the passage of the American Rescue Plan, $1.9 trillion of additional spending that even Democratic economists warned might kick off inflation, the inflation rate was 4.16. Think about that, it nearly tripled in the course of four months.”
He continued, “By July, it was 5.3 percent, by October 5.2, it sort of moderated a little bit, but still stuck up there higher than it was at the beginning of the year, and then by January, it had grown to 7.48 percent, April 8.25 percent, and then 8.582 percent, 40 year, 41-year high!”
“Now, why did I mark April?” Rove asked. “I marked April because that’s when President Biden said it was transitory when he dismissed the fears about this, and since then, it’s nearly doubled and so the president’s, we just heard the chairman of his Council of Economic Advisers say this all happened because of Putin.”
“Well Putin is…before Putin, we were at 7.48 percent, Putin invades Ukraine on February 24th,” he pointed out.
“Are these people thinking we’re dumb or do they really believe this stuff because the facts spell something entirely different,” Rove said, debunking the Putin price hike scan. “And it’s worse for food in the United States, even more than energy, and our food prices were not being affected this past month or the months before by Ukraine, they’re being affected by the general condition of inflation in the United States.”
The miserable report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics was an “I told you so” moment for former President Donald J. Trump.
“Just out, really bad CPI – 8.6%. Worst number since December, 1981,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“Employment numbers 6,000,000 lower than it should be! I told you so,” he added. “Should never have happened!”

Twitter users also reacted strongly to Biden’s finger-pointing and refusal to acknowledge that the buck stops with him.
Putin's price hike had a minimal effect compared to Biden's price hikes. His first day in office he cancelled the Keystone pipeline, and made it more difficult for energy companies to operate on Federal lands. Biden said that Americans are paying a "Putin tax" on fuel and food, after the release of May data on inflation, which was a record for more than 40 years.
„Putin‘s price hike“ „Putin tax“
As always, blame everyone but your own incompetence.

Take a shot every time Biden says "Putin's price hike".

How is it "Putin's price hike" when it was Biden banning Russian oil and gas, Russian natural resources, etc and not Putin refusing to sell to the market?

Biden has gone to the well once too often on “Putin’s price hike” and too many people understand that the real culprit for America’s woes is in the White House, not the Kremlin.
Democrats have come a long way since President Harry Truman famously displayed a sign on his desk bearing the words “the buck stops here.”
