Leftists swarmed after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s latest gaffe when the fiery Georgia Republican misspoke during an impassioned House floor speech.
Saying that the rights of the January 6th protesters who have been held under deplorable conditions in a special D.C. jail were “fragrantly violated,” Greene clearly intended to say “flagrantly” and the Twitter mob was joined by her Democratic Party colleague, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
MTG’s slip-up came before Democrats rammed through a bill imposing severe restrictions on the Second Amendment rights of Americans following up on a theatrical House committee hearing on gun violence in which survivors of the deadly school shooting that claimed the lives of 19 children at a Uvalde, TX elementary school were trotted out for maximum emotional impact.
Greene, who has been one of the most steadfast defenders of those who were caught up in the chaos at the Capitol and have been deprived of due process, slipped up asking, “What is happening to these people? And why are their due process rights being so fragrantly violated?”
A selectively edited snippet of Greene’s remarks was boosted by prolific leftist social media influencer Aaron Rupar and Ocasio-Cortez just couldn’t resist jabbing her GOP congressional counterpart.
“Gotta love the smell of gun safety legislation in the morning,” tweeted AOC, a reference to Robert Duvall’s character Lt. Col. William “Bill” Kilgore’s line of “I love the smell of napalm in the morning” from “Apocalypse Now,” Francis Ford Coppola’s acclaimed 1979 epic film about the Vietnam war, a performance that earned him a best-supporting actor Oscar nomination.

The attention-starved socialist diva later took to Instagram, tearfully hamming it up in her own Academy Award-worthy performance where she aired out her feelings for legions of her adoring fans about being forced to “relive” the day’s traumatic events.
‘I am so angry. Having to relive that footage,’ she said at the beginning of her nearly twelve-minute diatribe. ‘I know it’s not just me. This is everyone.’

AOC plugged the nationally televised primetime dog and pony show, saying, “not only did they just replay footage but they revealed new footage from that day and they revealed new information. Shocking information. Information like Republican members of Congress were seeking pardons before the insurrection knowing what they were about to do,” she claimed.
‘They replayed new footage from that day, they’ll probably continue to replay footage,” she added. “And again, I don’t know how long I’m going to be online right now because I’m just angry and I know that it’s not just me, it’s not about any one of us as individuals, this is about what happened to our country.”
Ocasio-Cortez has claimed that she feared for her life that day and that she believed that the January 6th protesters would rape her, drawing major media attention and once again making everything about her.
As for Greene, the “fragrantly violated” gaffe is just the latest of her verbal stumbles, unforced errors that have been a gift to her political foes including the flubbing of her delivery in a rant that billionaire Bill Gates wants to force Americans to eat fake meat grown in a “peach tree dish” when she meant to say petri dish.

She also provided fodder to leftists with her stumble earlier this year about “Nancy Pelosi’s gazpacho police” spying on members of Congress.
U.S. @RepMTG is very concerned about “Nancy Pelosi’s Gazpacho Police,” who are not to be confused with Jerry Seinfield’s “Soup Nazis.”

Unfortunately for Greene, her enthusiasm sometimes gets the best of her but she should realize that you never give an enemy that knife that they will use to cut your throat with, the unspoken golden rule in hardball politics.
