Top House Dem clashes with Cheney, wants to use J6 hearings to abolish the Electoral College: report

Democrats are itching to use the big television event of the House Select Committee on the so-called “insurrection” which will receive the prime time treatment this week, as a means to enact their radical transformational agenda in a brazen attack on American democracy by blowing up the Electoral College, the fever dream of a party that is determined to hold power in perpetuity using any means necessary.

Rep. Jamie Raskin, who along with other Democrat veterans of the two failed impeachments that comprise Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked inquisition panel, is no longer even bothering with the concealment of his extremism, trashing the Electoral College as an “undemocratic relic of the early Constitution” as reports have emerged that he is determined to use the January 6th committee as a springboard to the controlled demolition of the system put into place by the nation’s Founding Fathers.

The Maryland Democrat appears to have high hopes of going big, well beyond the committee’s obvious objective of preventing another Donald J. Trump presidency to ensuring that there is never another Republican president again, a diabolical scheme that illustrates the pure contempt that today’s Democrats have for longstanding American principles as well as the United States Constitution.

According to a bombshell Axios report, “In multiple conversations among committee members, Raskin has argued that the Electoral College should be abolished — that if presidents were elected by a popular vote, this would protect future presidential elections against the subversion that Trump and his allies tried to pull off in 2020.”

Ironically, it is the vengeful Trump hater Liz Cheney who stands in the way of an unprecedented power grab by Pelosi’s revolutionaries.

“Nobody on the House select committee is more committed than Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) to pursuing Trump for inciting the attack on the Capitol. But she flatly opposes some of the more sweeping election law reforms backed by several committee Democrats,” Axios reported. “The broadest differences are between Cheney and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), according to three sources familiar with the committee’s private discussions. The two have a warm personal relationship but fundamentally disagree on what needs to be done to reform America’s election laws.”

“Liz is much more conservative, as far as what kinds of changes she wants to see done,” said a source with direct knowledge of their conversations,” according to the outlet.

Raskin expressed his deep-seated loathing for the Electoral College, which is the last remaining obstacle standing between the vast majority of America and tyrannical rule by the heavily-populated coastal enclaves of the leftist elite, during an interview with The Washington Post.

When asked about remarks in a previous interview that the Electoral College should be dismantled and whether he still held that belief, Raskin confirmed that is exactly what he desires to see become a reality.

“My very first bill I introduced as a state senator in Maryland was for the national popular vote interstate compact, so again, I speak only for myself here and, you know, totally apart from all of this, I’ve taken a position that the Electoral College is an undemocratic relic of the early Constitution,” he boasted, “just like the state legislature selection of U.S. senators, which is something we got rid of, in 1913, with the 17th Amendment, just like the exclusion of women from voting, which we got rid of in 1920 with the 19th Amendment.”

“You know, we didn’t start out with Lincoln’s beautiful vision of government of the people, by the people and for the people, we started out as a slave republic of white male property owners,” he claimed, repeating the Big Lie that America, as it exists today, is a white supremacist nation that was built upon the bones of black people, a false narrative that is essential to the modern version of the Democratic Party.

“We do still have what I think we have some obsolescent political institutions in the country and certainly some obsolescent political practices. Those are things I think we need to address whether it’s in this context or another context,” he added.

Also in his interview with WaPo, Raskin teased the coming frame-up of Trump: “The select committee has found evidence about a lot more than incitement here, and we’re gonna be laying out the evidence about all of the actors who were pivotal to what took place on Jan. 6.”

On Thursday night, Raskin along with fellow impeachment dead-enders Zoe Lofgren and Adam Schiff will get their big chance to appeal to the gullible Americans who tune into their choreographed production by laying out their case for the end of democracy as it has existed with a perverse Soviet-style show trial that has no place in a free country.
