A Disneyland Paris employee is facing intense scrutiny over his decision to interrupt a male guest’s preplanned wedding proposal.
“The man proposing marriage to his girlfriend reportedly asked permission from a park employee before mounting a platform in front of Cinderella’s Castle to pop the question,” according to Deadline.
“As he drops to his knee holding a ring box, a male employees runs into the scene, darts between the couple, and grabs the ring box. He then gets off the platform and gestures to the couple to complete their ceremony off the platform.”

The clip went viral on Reddit, where a friend of the to-be-groom shared it and wrote “POS destroyed my best friends moment. He asked for permission beforehand.”
POS is short for “piece of s–t,” and the friend was using the term to describe the Disneyland Paris employee who interrupted the wedding proposal.
Disney has since issued an apology.
“We regret how this was handled. We have apologized to the couple involved and offered to make it right,” a spokesperson told Newsweek.
However, the public’s unsatisfied with this resolution and demanding blood.

However, some have defended the employee, claiming that he was just doing his job.

He’s doing the job he’s assigned to do. It doesn’t matter what is happening up there, people aren’t supposed to be there. Period. What’s he supposed to do? Ignore it just because it’s a proposal and then get fired or written up? Not worth if for guests breaking the rules.

Nah, as an employee that’s had to deal with a lot of bullshit, I feel this man. You can see the pain in his eyes, but he’s doing what he has to do. This has probably happened countless times. Plus, isn’t Disney notorious for enforcing park rules? These ppl got what they deserved.

And what if he gets in trouble by his bosses for not doing his job? It’s a restricted area and there’s cameras everywhere. He could have had ramifications for not moving them away. I’m wondering if the ropes were up and they crossed them or were there no signs it was restricted

Overall, this marks yet another stain in Disney’s already greatly tarnished reputation.
In recent months the media conglomerate has faced growing backlash over its “woke” behavior and takes, from lobbying against Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill to bragging about purposefully injecting LGBT content into its children’s content.
Most recently, the company published an online ad encouraging children to visit and join the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) online.
