Jackson Lee scolds Fla GOP rep. for gun demo: ‘I’m at my house. I can do whatever I want with my guns’

During a heated House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday with Democrats poised to ram through their most recent legislative package to strip law-abiding Americans of their gun ownership rights under the pretense of protecting the children, Republican Rep. Greg Steube rattled Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s cage when he displayed his own firearms to make a point.

On a day marked by grandstanding by the majority party after the horrific Texas elementary school shooting in which 19 young kids and their adult teachers were slaughtered by a deranged gunman, the Florida congressman who was attending remotely, laid out the truly sneaky nature of the Democrats’ bill using his gun collection as a visual aid.

Explaining that taking away the constitutional rights of gun owners is the real objective by referencing President Joe Biden’s statement that he wants to ban “high caliber” handguns such as the popular 9mm, a remark that was walked back by the White House which said that he did support the banning of high capacity magazines, Rep. Steube contended that it is really a sly way to implement a backdoor ban on many popular handguns.

“Their plans and their intentions are clear, they want to take away law-abiding citizens’ ability to purchase the firearm of their choice, and don’t let them fool you that they are not attempting to take away your ability to purchase handguns, they are using the magazine ban to do it,” Steube said.

It was then that, while sitting in his home office, he proceeded to demonstrate some of the firearms that the high capacity magazine ban would effectively outlaw.

After showing how the smaller magazines wouldn’t fit his handguns, Lee spoke up.

“I hope the gun is not loaded,” said the Texas Democrat.

Steube shot back, “I’m at my house. I can do whatever I want with my guns.”

The Judiciary Committee markup hearing on the “Protecting Our Kids Act” predictably brought out the worst in Democrats who sought to exploit the senseless murders of the Robb Elementary school victims at a time when their family members are still grieving over the loss of their children, and few were more shameless that Rep. Eric Swalwell.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s top lieutenant who was somehow able to keep his position on the powerful House Intelligence Committee after he was outed for making pillow talk with an actual Chinese spy delivered his spiel in front of a giant poster showing the Uvalde victims.

In another tweet attacking Steube for his visual aids, Swalwell was put in his place by the GOP congressman.

In another of the day’s lowlights, freshman Rep. Mondaire Jones of New York said the quiet part out loud.

“You will not stop us from advancing the Protecting our Kids Act today,” he vowed. “You will not stop us from passing it in the house next week and you will not stop us there.”

“If the filibuster obstructs us, we will abolish it,” he ranted. “If the Supreme Court objects, we will expand it and we will not rest until we have taken weapons of war out of circulation in our communities, each and every day, we will do whatever it takes to end gun violence, whatever it takes.”

The hearing took place on the day after another gunman killed four people at a Tulsa medical building before turning his gun on himself but don’t expect this one to stay in the headlines long for one clearly obvious reason.

President Biden who is facing calls to “do something” could soon make his latest dictatorial move with an executive order to steal away the constitutional rights of the tens of millions of American gun owners who have never killed any children and who are constantly scapegoated by Democrats for the actions of criminal psychopaths.

  1. It’s just a matter of time. The scales of justice wax and wane, and as such, we’ll see the same posturing we always have…if it leans too far, the right will prevail – the sad thing, is that everyone who’s in a position of making a decision, knows this, but the left will continue to throw up dust. At this point, we need to be paying attention to the things the left is not saying and have transparency into what they’re actually doing in the background – SSDD at the Capitol.

  2. “I hope the gun is not loaded,” said the Texas Democrat adding “We don’t need any more 100 millimeter, er, caliber automatic guns on the street with 1000 round clips that weigh as much as two, or three, boxes.”

  3. Who listens to jackass lee? Another blm terrorist and white supremacist in congress. vote it out!

  4. This article is misleading as congress cannot change or circumvent the Constitution. He should state this

  5. I thought Sheila Jackson Lee was a very minor official in Tx not Fla.!!

  6. Dopey Joe’s comments about the 9m proves is completely out to lunch or in outer space about firearms, but then he is a typical brainless democrat!!

  7. Have you ever noticed that all the intelligent black politicians are conservatives and all the rest are Democrats? Just asking!

  8. This is the point where I am truly grateful for Trump putting conservative justices in the SC. Let’s hope they don’t cave to the gun grabbers.
