A tweet from the official account of the GOP House Judiciary Committee that was an apparent attempt to troll supporters of actress Amber Heard who was on the losing end of a defamation lawsuit to ex-husband Johnny Deep got a big reaction on Twitter, nearly all of it being severely negative.
On Wednesday, a Virginia jury unanimously awarded Depp with more than $10 million in a trial that has dominated headlines for weeks, a verdict that some have seen as a larger victory for men in general who have faced false accusations during the hysterical #MeToo era, often having their lives destroyed without due process. Needless to say, the jury’s decision has been intensely polarizing.
Following the verdict, whoever runs the House Judiciary Committee’s Twitter account posted a GIF image of Depp in his most famous role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s lucrative “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise, a clip from a scene of the character striking a victorious pose.

The tweet immediately went viral, nearly breaking Twitter in the process, drawing a hurricane of backlash for the committee and its ranking member, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio from leftists whose emotions were still raw over Heard’s legal comeuppance.

I know this is intended to goad enraged responses, but honestly, someone is *probably* going to see this response and I just want you to take two seconds to think about the fact that you work with the government of the United States. This what you dreamt of?

In case you were in any doubt whether their opposition to Roe vs Wade is about the sanctity of "life" or really just straight-up misogyny, the GOP briskly uses a complex and sad legal case to serve as a further warning to uppity women everywhere.

Cool that you are coming out in support of both Disney and queer pirates, and on the first day of Pride Month, too! 🌈

What the actual fucking fuck? Between this tweet and the rainbow bullets… as far as I'm concerned aliens can't start harvesting us for meat soon enough. https://t.co/95TyqsHAVR

Some pointed out that the actor once joked about assassinating former President Donald J. Trump.
Someone tell these morons Depp hates Trump so much he joked about killing him. He isn’t your guy and prob would cringe at this. https://t.co/BllClfZ5bY https://t.co/6iuyFBmVd9

Celebrating the actor who has joked about Trump being assassinated. Odd flex. https://t.co/zJYiRovOpy

Still, others tried to shift the subject to the Democrat push for draconian new gun restrictions in the aftermath of last week’s mass murder at a Texas elementary school.

Despite being on the losing end of the sensationalist celebrity trial that mesmerized Americans, Heard did win $2 million in her own defamation lawsuit which, judging by the reaction, didn’t serve as much of a balm for the perpetually unhinged activist left’s psychic wounds.
Depp, who wasn’t in the courtroom for the verdict expressed great relief, saying that “the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled.”

Who cares if Depp is anti-Trump? Conservatives want justice even if the one deserving of justice hates them. The left is political 100% of the time and it makes them look like morons.
It’s soooo easy to trigger those morons
Just a reminder: Normal people don’t care about the “lives” of people who play pretend for a living. Even less about the rantings of Twitter troll-bots. This is not a news story.
Good thing there wasn’t important stuff going on that would get in the way of viewing a law suit between 2 egotistical, narcissistic, drug abusing, drunk weirdos.
Suck it up snowflakes! If you watched all or part of the trial, it was very evident she did this all for attention. When you have to ask the opposing lawyer what she is referring to regarding YOUR OWN testimony, you are lying; you don’t have to be prompted if it’s the truth. When your lawyer’s MAUFACTURE evidence and get caught red handed, you are probably lying and losing!
Justice Cavanaugh was serial rapist just a short time ago, but evidently not any longer since it has all been forgotten!
Any type of abuse, physical, mental, or verbal against a women is unforgivable. Making false accusations against a man is even more so!
Most snowflake can’t handle the truth, this mean girl is vindictive like Botox Pee-loser against Trump. Just saying…
No matter what Republicans say, demoncrats/ liberals will Always be whiny babies.
Once again, the Leftards strain to prove their stupidity, none with intellect enough to grasp the nuances of irony, failing to understand that the intent of the meme was to use their own hero to mock the Leftards.
Saying “They just don’t get it!” hardy suffices, perhaps we need to dumb down our attempts, so they realize they are being mocked?
Then again, the responses are fun to read and better reveals their ignorance!
Isn’t Amber Heard the reason that Depp had to sell his French Chateau?
After reading the twitter droppings littering the comments section, it’s easy to believe that Nancy Pelosi and the Hildabeast could poop in their boyfriends/others love bed.
Depp and Heard are of the same moral fiber. The kind you leave in the toilet after a good case of diarrhea. Let the dead bury the dead.
Well, I think this one page managed to fill my “bilge” quota for today.
Somebody used stuff from Disney to make a point entirely unrelated to said content’s original purpose. And now that means he supports Disney and all the horrible things Disney was using its money for? Now he agrees with Depp’s joke about killing the last president and is hoping to win his vote? Even when I was five, I knew better than to think like that.
