Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance in the UK with rock legend and longtime friend Jeff Beck, jamming out onstage as he awaits the verdict in his explosive and salacious trial with ex-wife, actress Amber Heard.
Depp evidently jetted out of Fairfax, Virginia as fast as he could to Sheffield, England where he joined the British musician on tour Sunday, just days after closing arguments in the high-profile trial, according to Fox News. Depp started off as a musician but eventually had more success in acting.
He is also a member of the hard-rock supergroup, Hollywood Vampires, along with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry of Aerosmith.
Beck and Depp played a number of covers throughout the performance including Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Goin’ On” and John Lennon’s “Isolation,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Depp seemed especially animated while performing “Isolation.” Beck and Depp released a version of the song in 2020. The messaging in the lyrics seems to have a poignant meaning for Depp:
I don’t expect you to understand
After you caused so much pain
But then again you’re not to blame
You’re just a human, a victim of the insane

The venue where the concert took place tweeted, “Well…what a surprise we got last night when Johnny Depp joined @jeffbeckmusic on stage 😱 Wishing
@jeffbeckmusic good luck for the rest of his amazing tour 😍 and a big thank you to Johnny Depp for joining us!”
“The musical soulmates have been working behind the scenes for the past several years on new music,” Beck said in a statement
“We weren’t expecting to release it so soon but given all the hard days and true ‘isolation’ that people are going through in these challenging times, we decided now might be the right time to let you all hear it,” he added.
The concert comes one day after another English rock legend seemed to signal support for Depp’s perilous situation
Saturday night in Orlando, Florida, Paul McCartney aired a clip from the 2012 music video for “My Valentine,” which featured the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor and actress Natalie Portman.
McCartney has not addressed the trial and has not spoken publicly about the actor, but the visual appeared to many to be a symbol of his support for Depp.
Last night. Paul McCartney show. Orlando Florida. The first thing I noticed was that Paul McCartney supported Johnny Depp enough to put him on his own stage. The next thing I noticed is the crowd cheering. The court of public opinion has spoken#JusticeForJohnnyDepp pic.twitter.com/P7Wp6XEJl7

Beck found fame in the 1960s with the Yardbirds and has worked with David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Stevie Wonder, and ZZ Top.

The trial wrapped up on Friday and it’s now in the hands of the jurors on whether or not Heard defamed Depp in a 2018 op-ed she penned for The Washington Post. Depp is suing her for $50 million. She never specifically named Depp in the op-ed, but she appeared to insinuate that Depp abused her throughout their turbulent marriage. She has also filed a $100 million countersuit against Depp, accusing him of conducting a “smear campaign” against her.
Testimonies from Depp’s ex-girlfriend Kate Moss and ex-girlfriend Ellen Barkin took place on Friday. As did testimonies from Elon Musk, Paul Bettany, Marilyn Manson, and James Franco.
Johnny Depp is currently touring the UK with Jeff Beck.. Good for him! He deserves to be able to work and travel and do the things he loves. You can't keep a good man down and people see the truth! #JusticeForJohnnyDepp

Both Depp and Heard have been harmed by the proceedings and have lost film contracts because of them. Depp has been nixed from “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Heard has lost out on “Aquaman 2.” Both are Disney franchises.
The jury is off on Memorial Day but will continue deliberations on Tuesday.
