Mom of TX school shooter says relationship with him was good: ‘My son wasn’t a violent person’

The mother of the 18-year-old killer who massacred 19 young children and two adults at a Texas elementary school maintains that her son was not a violent person despite the horrific carnage that he visited upon his helpless victims.

The Daily Mail caught up with Adriana Reyes on the day after her son Salvador Ramos allegedly walked into Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and told the terrified children “You’re going to die” before opening fire with the only thing preventing a higher death count being the actions of a brave Border Patrol agent who intervened to eliminate the threat.

In the exclusive interview, the alleged killer’s mom said that she was “surprised” that he would act out in such a murderously violent manner and that he was a “loner” who didn’t have friends and who “kept to himself.”

“My son wasn’t a violent person. I’m surprised by what he did,” Reyes said.

“I pray for those families. I’m praying for all of those innocent children, yes I am. They [the children] had no part in this,” she said, according to the Daily Mail which spoke to her from the hospital where she was with her mother, 66-year-old Celia Gonzalez, the grandmother of the shooter who was his first victim, Ramos shot her in the face before embarking on his bloody rampage.

According to the Daily Mail, “She also slapped down reports she had a toxic relationship with her son that may have warped his personality. She continued: ‘I had a good relationship with him. He kept to himself; he didn’t have many friends.”

“She said the last time she spoke with him was last Monday, on his birthday, adding: ‘I had a card and a Snoopy stuffed animal to give to him,'” the outlet reported.

Now her son is dead, along with the children of 19 other mothers and two adults who were gunned down in cold blood by the kid who “wasn’t a violent person” as well as her own mother who is clinging to her life.

“She claims she did not know where Salvador shot her mother but added, me and my sister are going to care for her when she gets home to Uvalde,” according to the Daily Mail. “She said her mother ‘with her left hand, was able to hold my hand.’ She added her mother cannot smile but knows she is there for her. She said doctors do not know what her mother’s prognosis is.”

Celia Gonzalez’s husband, 72-year-old Rolando Reyes, the grandfather of Salvador Ramos told ABC News that he wasn’t aware that his grandson had purchased the two AR-15 style guns or that they were in the house where he had been living after an alleged conflict with his mother over Wi-Fi.

His grandfather is a felon making it illegal to reside in a home with firearms and said that had he known, he would have turned his grandson in, according to the outlet.

“Reyes said there were no signs the morning of the shooting that anything unusual was going to happen. The suspect had a minor argument with his grandmother over the payment of a phone bill, but nothing significant,” ABC News reported.

  1. Right Now!
Fantastic work-from-home opportunity for everryone… Work for three to eight hrs a day and start getting paid in the range of 7,000-14,000 dollars a month…
    Weekly payments……. .

    Check The Details HERE….. http://www.Netcash1.com

  2. Don’t think this Mom was very involved with the son at all. Where was she when he was not attending school, where was she when he was buying the guns and where did that money come from?

  3. Let me see if I understand correctly, he couldn’t find the money to pay granny for his part of the phone bill, but he could afford 2 assault weapons. Gotcha! Grandpa is a felon and mommy into the drug scene. He tests one gun by seeing if it works on granny’s face, then posts on Facebook before murdering 22 innocent people. A model American family if there ever was one… NOT!!!

  4. Perhaps he had ABANDONMENT ISSUES…………PERHAPS HE GOT CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT IS RIGHT AND WRONG AND THAT MADE SHOOTING GRANDMA IN THE FACE A WHOLE LOT EASIER. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD GET THE “MOTHER OF THE YEAR” AWARD?

  5. Wow, like the mother will tell the truth. Does Joe Biden blatantly lie? But of course, evil are all the same.

  6. Parents ARE The PROBLEM! Making more Gun Laws is ridiculous. Anyone with intelligence knows any gun Cannot pull the trigger itself. This child is proof that the mentally ill are the reasons that the United States has so many savage shootings. Using these shootings to push Gun Laws is ludicrous at best. In the 70’s the ” do gooder’s” closed the Mental health Hospitals rather than cleaning them up, changing the hands on care, thoroughly checking backgrounds of Aides who care for patients daily and can abuse patients the most, set up better care activities and provide respect for each patient. Instead we let them out into society, left them on their own promising to take their meds, turn our heads as they sleep on the sidewalks, under bridges, attacking strangers and end up being passed from one home to the next eventually forgotten. The Mentally Ill need to be taken care of! PARENTS NEED to be educated and warned…. students need to be educated. PLEASE lets work together toward THAT common goal… not one that divides the country!!!

    1. Tell that to slow Joe Biden, oh snap, Biden is one of those insane people you are referring to, it’s hard to believe he is leader of this country and the free world.

    2. So true, but this kid probably wasn’t in one of those mental hospitals. Reopening them would be a great idea, but a family member would have to submit and consent to treatment.

  7. She’d have a difficult time convincing me that he wasn’t violent! Where was she when he shot grandma?

  8. Why do we even know his name? See his picture? Interview his family? Stop giving them (shooters) this sick fame and recognition maybe there would be less incentive.

  9. The mom is an idiot. This punk is burning in hell where he belongs. Too bad he didn’t just off himself first.

  10. The schools in Peachtree City GA have one door to walk into and there is a camera and button to push, before door will open. Then one walks past the front office. Simple, so simple. So cheap compared to the cost of one life, especially a child.

  11. I’m sorry, but that is a picture of a depressed person and previous pic. No life in his eyes. I think his family is not telling the whole truth and hiding something??His parents should be held accountable for their son. This whole scenario is unfathomable and should have never happened. No more talk about this monster that destroyed these children’s lives and that of their families. The focus should be on these babies and their grieving families

  12. Well, safe to say this kid didn’t stand a chance in that family. But there are plenty of kids that come out of dysfunctional, drug using, criminal families who do not decide to kill a school full of young children. (JD Vance?) It appears the only think he learned from his family and school and the internet is how to kill. If we are going to continue to NEVER talk about these broken families, NEVER talk about children growing up without fathers, we’re going to continue to raise killers. BTW: Social services should keep that poor grandmother’s daughters away from her….she seems like the only one who tried, and her daughter will be selling/using her pain meds, bet on it.

  13. These parents of all these criminals always say he was a wonderful son. Doesn’t matter if it is this latest nut job, George Floyd, etc, they are all good people-which shows how low some family’s standards are. Just once I would like to hear 1 family. member say-he was a loser, a real POS.

  14. SHE GOT HER 18 YR OLD A SNOOPY DOLL FOR HIS BIRTHDAY ?? ALL THE WHILE HE HAS MAJOR ASSAULT RIFLES HIDDEN IN A FELONS HOUSE !! THERE IS ALOT MORE TO THIS THAT THE PRESS ISN’T TELLING US , HOW HE PURCHASED THESE WEAPONS, WHERE HE PURCHASED THEM ? F.J.B.

  15. Again, this has absolutely nothing to do with firearms, other than that was the weapon of choice by the killer. The kid, young man, was from a broken home and most likely had little or no attention from his parents. It is very evident that he had no morals. How can anyone look a 7 to 10 year in the eye and kill them for no reason? People are products of their surrounding, the majority of the time, unless they have the inner strength to pull themselves out of the gutter. America is full of this crap…parents are raising children and not do so properly! Parents are to blame for most things that their offspring do!!!

  16. What a lovely mother son relationship. They must have gone to counseling. Maybe read that counseling book by that author and counselor out of Colorado

  17. He was a cross dressing lgbtqp+ fanatic. He already had mental disorders. He had two Daniel Defense rifles worth more than $5000 plus ammo and expensive optics. He also had a $70k F250.

He was 18 living with his grandmother and he could afford all this? Right.

Another false flag to push gun control.

    1. We need gun control to protect us from these educated and counseled to hate, steal and kill.

  18. “My son wasn’t a violent person… he just rode around shooting people with a BB gun.

  19. Arguments over WiFi… to where he moves to grannie’s house? Brings weapons into a known felon’s house (grandpa)? Fights with grannie over a phone bill? Loner, drops out of school, no friends, no known girlfriends, all “relationships” seem to be online? No father? Mother rumored to be a druggie or at least issues with drugs…
Oh, and did I mention no father, no friends, a loner and fighting with mom & grannie?
Nah, nothing wrong with this picture, a “normal” teen…
STILL very interested in WHERE the money came from for this kid to purchase $5,000 worth of weapons, not to mention the ammo and other paraphernalia he had.

    1. What about his $70k F250? The money came from the taxpayers the feds gave him.

    2. All good children shoot their grandmother. Something they learned from counselors and in school.

  20. Does this mother have a clue? No. What every estranged son wants for his 18th birthday- a card and a Snoopy stuffed animal- to be delivered late. Reprehensible woman.

      1. You know he’s not illegal because it would already be off the news cycle.

  21. Just kind of curious. All these leftist want to immediately ban assault weapons and were on TV within seconds of this tragedy happening. No one has mentioned any thing about the pistol. You have to be 21 to buy a pistol so he could not have got it legally and his grandfather was a felon so it should not have been in the home where he was staying. The big mystery, where did he get it.

    1. Hunter Biden cocaine and firearms internet sale? Buy a picture, Hunter throws in guns and cocaine.

  22. This is typical for the mother. She knows if she had any knowledge of any bizarre activities or statements she might be seen to be negligent, liable, or culpable. In a community like Uvalde she has two option, move out of the city or possibly have her house burned down. This is the way I have seen these types of things handled by the Mexican community. She needs to get far away from this city and its people.

  23. A great relationship, but he was living with his grandparents or going to school? The mother’s live-in boyfriend reported that “Ramos had a tumultuous relationship with his mother, which often included fights”.

“Becky Flores, who lives next door to Ramos’ mother and was Ramos’ Head Start teacher, described frequent tumult at the home. Flores said there were many disturbances, one of them two months ago, when eight police officers arrived the day Ramos left to stay with his grandmother.”

  24. The Wrong Question

A male, Latino adolescent walks into a middle school with a rifle and a pistol. He starts shooting, murdering Latino children and two teachers. Big Media and others immediately begin seeking motive, hypothesizing about ill-defined mental illness.

They ask, “What was his state of mind?”

“Wrong question!” says this commenting Board-certified psychiatrist.

Biobehavioral Science, of which few Americans have heard but which is the foundation for the social system in China, tells us to look for objective answers by asking about Context and the ABC’s.

Few mass murderers or serial killers are female? Accordingly, firstly ask, What sex is the killer?

Secondly, ask, What is the context? A discussion of such follows herein.

Thirdly, ask, What are the Antecedents preceding and the Consequences following the Behavior?

In this case, the Antecedent for the homicidal Behavior was an argument with the killer’s grandmother, whom he shot. Then, under stimulus generalization his aggressive Behavior became redirected at the school. Redirected aggression.

What was the reïnforcing Consequence for each pulling of the trigger? The death of each victim.

Provable, objective, factual ABC’s. Not unprovable, subjective, hypothesized mentalisms.

Let’s return to context. As with all behavior, the controlling, independent variables are biology and environment. In this case, the biology is male sex. The environment?

As described in this commentator’s most recent novel, Retribution Fever, the killer’s general environment is a fragmenting, declining nation on fire that has shed its cohesive, unifying force by abandoning God and losing its soul. Asking how is a question for another time. It has become a lunatic asylum with the lunatics running the asylum. Yet, there is evil method to this madness.

Violence is everywhere, promoted by those whose goal is to destroy completely the vision of our Founding Fathers. This particular killer became an imitator of the violent lunacy surrounding him — violent lunacy such as other shootings that functioned as models. Previously, his overall behavior increasingly had come under the control of violent video-games via the Internet — vicarious reïnforcement.

In a way, the killer himself is a victim. The real killers of those Latino children are those killing this nation. Can we stop them? Yes. How? Had patriotic Americans the courage, by whatever means necessary. Then? A scientific answer you will find in the aforementioned novel.

  25. ‘My son wasn’t a violent person’
He was always a violent person. Like many of them, he kept his anger and hatred bottled up inside of him and let it fester until he felt the time was right to detonate.

that he was a “loner” who didn’t have friends and who “kept to himself.” is usually a strong indicator of a troubled mind. But his mom, who doesn’t even look twice her son’s age, missed the warning signs. Maybe because she was too into herself and her needs to properly focus on him.

She makes me wonder how many more people would her son have had to kill before she’d admit he really was a violent person?

  26. Don’t you just love how the parents of these psychopaths always say the same thing? Bullshit! They know dam well they got some messed up individuals but are too afraid to address the problem.

  27. When parents are that delusional and removed from their children, it’s no wonder the kids go wrong.
