Biden says monkeypox something to ‘be concerned about’; LGBTQ+ festival in Spain linked to outbreak

With hysteria ramping up as cases of the rare monkeypox virus keep popping up in multiple countries, President Joe Biden made his first public comments on the disease which could conceivably usher in a sequel to the mandates and restrictions that were imposed during the COVID pandemic.

The press caught up with the “leader” of the free world who is visiting South Korea on his first trip to Asia since taking office and asked Biden for his input on whether the monkeypox cases in Europe and the U.S. were something “to be concerned about”

“Well they haven’t told me the level of exposure yet but it is something that everybody should be concerned about,” Biden said as he prepared to board Air Force One for a visit to Japan.

“We’re working on it hard to figure out what we do and what vaccine if any may be available for it,” he added, “but it is a concern in a sense that if it were to spread it’s consequential, that’s all they told me.”

Biden’s remarks comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) convened an emergency meeting about cases of the virus which is typically not seen outside of Africa but according to the global health body has been detected in “11 countries that normally don’t have the disease,” stating that there are currently 80 confirmed cases with 50 more suspected.

In related news, the Daily Mail is reporting that a massive LGBTQ+ pride festival in Spain has drawn attention after “being linked to numerous monkeypox cases in Madrid, Italy and Tenerife” amidst fears that it could be a super spreader event.

This year’s Maspalomas Pride festival drew an estimated 80,000 revelers from Europe to Gran Canaria which is also known as Grand Canary Island, the celebration was held from May 5-15.

“It was attended by people who have tested positive for the monekypox virus afterwards, with public health services from the Canary Islands now investigating the any links between the cases and the LGBT+ celebrations,” the Daily Mail reported. “‘Among the 30 or so diagnosed in Madrid, there are several who attended the event, although it is not yet possible to know if one of them is patient zero of this outbreak or if they all got infected there,’ a health source told El País.”

“There is no conclusive evidence that the latest outbreak is being sexually transmitted, rather than simply being passed between people who were in close proximity to each other, experts said,” according to the outlet. “As such gay men are not believed to be more likely to contract the disease, however are potentially more likely to have been exposed to it due to the known incidences being at events and locations that attracted large numbers of people from across the LGBT+ community.”

“Yesterday, health authorities in

Health authorities reported 23 confirmed cases of monkeypox, mainly in the Madrid region where the regional government closed a sauna linked to the majority of infections, according to the Daily Mail. The newspaper noted that there are believed to be “50 cases in Spain, 30 confirmed and 20 suspected, along with two confirmed cases in the Spanish Canary Islands.”

The symptoms of the monkeypox virus manifest themselves in a terrible rash featuring ugly pustules, a gruesome highly visible aspect that has already been hyped heavily by the same media that engaged in fearmongering so intense that the entire country was locked down two years ago, including the unprecedented cancelation of sports events.

The panic has already started with New Yorkers once being told to mask-up over monkeypox with one of the two suspected domestic cases being in the Big Apple.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has kept a relatively low profile lately but could be waiting in the wings…
