Trump calls for Dr. Oz to declare victory: ‘It makes it much harder for them to cheat’

Former President Donald J. Trump triggered a leftist uproar when he called for GOP Senate hopeful Dr. Mehmet Oz to declare victory in the Pennsylvania primary race, words that immediately set off a firestorm from his media adversaries and leftists on Twitter.

The celebrity physician, whose race remained too close to call as of Wednesday is virtually deadlocked with opponent Dave McCormick, a former hedge fund CEO in the closely watched contest with some counties not yet having tallied mail-in ballots as provisional, overseas and military absentee ballots have yet to be counted which may take days.

Despite name recognition and Trump’s campaigning for him, Dr. Oz found himself in a dogfight with McCormick after insurgent conservative candidate Kathy Barnette siphoned off votes from the Turkish-born surgeon, coming in a strong third.

Trump, who endorsed Oz took to Truth Social to give his advice.

“Dr. Oz should declare victory. It makes it much harder for them to cheat with the ballots that they “just happened to find,” Trump posted on the social media platform he founded.

The former and possible future POTUS clearly remains badly stung over the controversial 2020 election, one which he continues to contend wasn’t on the up-and-up after what appeared to be a massive lead evaporated overnight.

Further complicating matters for Dr. Oz is that the margin could be sufficiently narrow so as to trigger an automatic recount which could keep the race along with Trump in the headlines for days to come. Pennsylvania’s requirement to trigger the recount is 0.5 percent.

In another Truth Social missive, Trump wrote, “Here we go again! In Pennsylvania they are unable to count the Mail-In Ballots. It is a BIG MESS. Our Country should go to paper ballots, with same day voting. Just done in France, zero problems. Get Smart America!!!”

Dr. Oz, who many conservative voters were reportedly wary of, expressed faith that he will emerge as the winner of the tight primary.

“When all the votes are tallied, I am confident we will win,” he told his supporters on election night.

Jeff Roe, who is McCormick’s consultant, is also confident that his candidate will come out on top.

“Based on how many uncounted absentee ballots there are and the margin by which Dave has won them so far, that’s why we are confident of victory,”  Roe posted wrote on Twitter. “Dave will win this race.”

Trump’s call for Dr. Oz to declare himself the winner had leftists melting down in spectacular fashion.

Whoever eventually wins will face off against Democrat John Fetterman, the Keystone State’s lieutenant governor who handily won his party’s primary days after suffering a stroke, it is a contest that is critical to control of the U.S. Senate, with Dems salivating over the possibility of flipping the seat of retiring GOP Senator Pat Toomey.

Last week, Trump issued a statement urging voters to reject Barnette who he said had no chance of winning in the general election and that Oz was the only hope against the Democrats.

“Dr. Oz is the only one who will be able to easily defeat the Crazed, Lunatic Democrat in Pennsylvania. A vote for anyone else in the Primary is a vote against Victory in the Fall!” Trump wrote in a statement through his Save America PAC.
