Pelosi says SCOTUS ‘slapped women in the face’ for Mother’s Day

Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted the Supreme Court on Sunday, claiming that conservative justices have “slapped women in the face” and fiercely defended the right to terminate the lives of the unborn by invoking Mother’s Day.

The top congressional Democrat appeared remotely on CBS’s “Face The Nation” where she talked with host Margaret Brennan about the leaked SCOTUS draft opinion that has fueled speculation that the landmark abortion ruling Roe v. Wade will be overturned, a document that Democrats and their activist army view as a declaration of war.

On the morning after mobs invaded the neighborhoods of conservative justices in an intimidation campaign that has the tacit approval of Democratic Party leaders including President Joe Biden and on a day when leftists were encouraged to disrupt Catholic worship services, Pelosi preached the gospel of abortion with her twisted interpretation of Mother’s Day.

Madame Speaker was asked by Brennan why Democrats didn’t pass legislation to codify Roe v. Wade when Democrats held control of Congress during Barack Obama’s first term although it was not high on the new president’s list of priorities in 2009.

Pelosi huffed, “If I just may, the focus we have right now is an urgent one in order to try to improve, and try to improve this, whether we’re calling it fake or draft decision, whatever it is. I think that this is a waste of time,” using the curious words of “trying to improve” the court’s decision, a remark that slipped by Brennan who failed to press Pelosi on what she meant.

“The fact is, in ’09, we really did not have a pro-choice Democratic Party,” she said. “I had to fight against some of the people who did not want to pass the Affordable Care Act because they were concerned that it might enable more freedom of choice. It really didn’t go down that path.”

“Right now, we do have a pro-choice Democratic Congress, and we passed the law months ago, in last, I think, September,” she said, referring to the most radical pro-abortion legislation ever that sailed through the house only to run smack dab into a united wall of GOP resistance in the Senate.

While failing to pass last year, the bill is likely to be resurrected this week by her Senate counterpart Chuck Schumer as Democrats rush to shore up a woman’s right to murder her unborn child in advance of the coming Supreme Court ruling.

Brennan correctly pointed out that the legislation is doomed to fail, leading to Pelosi letting the cat out of the bag that the hysteria is all about politics, specifically the upcoming midterm elections.

“But I do think that it puts an urgency on what’s happening in the election,” she said. “Two more… one or two more senators could sweep back the filibuster rule for this purpose, and then women would have a right to choose.”

“This is about something so serious and so personal and so disrespectful of women,” added Pelosi. “Here we are on Mother’s Day, a week where the court has slapped women in the face, in terms of the disrespect for their judgments…about the size and timing of their families.”

Later in the segment, the pro-abortion Catholic said, “The rule of law in our country should be respected, women should be respected to make their own judgments with their family, their doctor, their God.”
