Jen Psaki may soon be leaving the building but her replacement Karine Jean-Pierre is already being criticized over her apparent anti-Israel beliefs, yet another example of the Democratic party’s open embrace of those who are hostile toward the Jewish state.
The former chief public affairs officer for progressive activist organization MoveOn.org was hailed by President Joe Biden for her “experience, talent and integrity” but her appointment has drawn new attention to a controversial op-ed that she penned for Newsweek in 2019.
In her Newsweek piece, Jean-Pierre slammed the powerful American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) as racist, praising Democrats who shunned the organization’s 2019 conference which has historically had bipartisan support, “It’s time to call a spade a spade,” she wrote.

According to Jean-Pierre, “AIPAC is not progressive. You cannot call yourself a progressive while continuing to associate yourself with an organization like AIPAC that has often been the antithesis of what it means to be progressive.”
She whined that AIPAC had lobbied against Barack Obama’s Iran nuclear deal, the crown jewel of the Democrat president’s legacy, while lashing out at former President Donald J. Trump who was possibly the most pro-Israel U.S. leader in the nation’s history.
“The deal was historic in its attempt to create and maintain peace. Now it’s being sabotaged by the Trump administration, who has found in AIPAC a strong partner. In its attempts to ruin the Iran deal, AIPAC supported the group that’s credited with inspiring President Trump to enact the Muslim Ban and has been known to spread anti-Muslim racism,” she wrote.
Jean-Pierre also took shots at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who has the keynote speaker at the AIPAC conference, accusing him of war crimes and racism.
“Unfortunately, AIPAC’s policy and conference speaker choices aren’t its only problems. Its severely racist, Islamophobic rhetoric has proven just as alarming. The organization has become known for trafficking in anti-Muslim and anti-Arab rhetoric while lifting up Islamophobic voices and attitudes.” KJP wrote. “As we’ve seen over the course of the Trump administration’s tenure, words can prove just as destructive as laws. Anti-Muslim and anti-Arab rhetoric doesn’t simply sit in a silo. It interacts with the world, creating and fuming hatred that leads to hateful acts, whether the package is individual hate crimes—or collective—the Muslim ban.”
Leftists swooned over the dual firsts of a black lesbian becoming that Biden administration’s top flack but Jean-Pierre’s anti-Israel sentiment is a far cry from a triumph of diversity that it is being portrayed as and Twitter users didn’t hold back in pointing it out.
“Amidst all the celebration of Biden’s new press secretary checking multiple boxes in identity politics, the mainstream media forgot to mention that she hates Israel,” wrote former United States Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.

“Karine Jean-Pierre (@K_JeanPierre @KJP46) will also be the first such openly hostile Press Secretary against Israel, who has accused the Jewish state of war crimes and supported boycotts,” wrote Arsen Ostrovsky, an international human rights lawyer.

“Karine Jean-Pierre also criticized Hoyer for “bash[ing]” Ilhan Omar and other squadniks over Israel. You definitely want someone who sides with Ilhan Omar speaking for the president, right? Good work everyone,” Seth Mandel of the Washington Examiner pointed out.

Additional responses on KJP’s anti-Israel radicalism.
Karine Jean-Pierre will be the next WH pres sec on May 13. She has a record of radical politics. She worked for https://t.co/vraziVFHWz history of anti-Israel radicalism. She’s married to Suzanne Malveaux a CNN anchor correspondent. Personal ties between Dems & Media! Typical 😡

“At a time of rising antisemitism in America, Biden’s promotion of Jean-Pierre is exactly the wrong signal to send. Promoting Jean-Pierre further proves the point that the Democrat party has become a breeding ground of anti-Israel hostility that goes right up to the White House”

President Joe Biden's next press secretary once called on DEM presidential candidates to boycott the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's (AIPAC) annual convention. Jean-Pierre endorsed pressure by MoveOn to boycott the annual AIPAC conference.

“It is deeply disturbing that President Biden has hired yet another Israel-hater in his Administration, choosing Karine Jean-Pierre to serve as White House press secretary after Jen Psaki leaves next week. Virtually every Biden appointment that affects Israel is someone hostile to Israel. In an era of a frightening surge in irrational hatred and attacks against Jews and Israel, Biden’s horrific appointment will inspire more antisemitism, Israel-bashing and violence against Jews. Why are the other Jewish leaders and groups displaying a deafening silence on this frightening antisemitic appointment, as they have on Biden’s endless group of appointments hostile to Israel?” ZOA said in a statement.
As has been previously seen with the strident anti-Semitism from members of “The Squad” like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, the Democratic party’s big tent is becoming increasingly populated with Jew haters.
