Sean Hannity unpacked the alarming development of the announcement about the Biden administration’s censorship board that will operate under the Department of Homeland Security as well as the appointment of far-left partisan Nina Jankowicz to head it up, yet another example of the authoritarianism of the nation’s 46th president.

On the latest edition of his popular Fox News show, “Hannity,” the host discussed Elon Musk’s buying of Twitter in the larger context of censorship with Jeanine Pirro and Lara Trump as well as the unprecedented degree that the government has gone to in order to maintain total control over the narrative.

“The bigger scandal here is not Jankowicz and her far-left politics, it’s the existence in a free country of a government disinformation board,” he said. “Our government does not get to decide what opinions are permissible and that is simply not the American way.”

“I don’t know, I would think maybe somebody over there read the First Amendment, read the Constitution, it’s up to ‘we the people’ to fact check the government, not the other way around,” he said. “Now government has always been and will always be the biggest offender of misinformation and disinformation, and of course, for the past few years big tech has played a massive role.”

“Twitter has been arbitrarily banning conservatives, throttling accounts,” he continued. “Of course we have shadow banning, blocking negative stories about Democrats, they’ve been protecting Democrats for years. But now Elon Musk, he’s taken it over and he’s really just promising freedom of speech and we have Twitter’s liberal board, they’re in a total freak-out, meltdown mode, they’re all worried that all their important moderation will soon come to an end and their platform will be scary and dangerous and a place filled with opinions that they can’t take and they disagree with.”

Hannity played audio from a conference call for Twitter employees after Musk’s offer to buy the San Francisco-based tech giant was approved by the board, taken from a newly-released video from Project Veritas.

“Now we contacted Twitter but they declined to comment, but is anyone surprised?” Hannity asked. “Now for years under Donald Trump, big tech, the mob, the media, the Democratic party, they all worked in conjunction together. Their goal, moderate the speech of their political opponents and silence them whenever possible. Now they’re losing grip and they’re hoping for a lifeline from America’s brand new disinformation czar who spreads disinformation herself.”

Hannity then welcomed Pirro, co-host of “The Five” and Trump, who is a Fox News contributor to engage in a lively conversation on Twitter and Biden’s “Ministry of Truth” as well as the double standards when it comes to political speech.

The host responded to Trump’s suggestion that the regime’s actions could be motivated by their desperation to prevent her father-in-law from retaking the White House if he runs again in 2024.

“Not a single word about the people that were suspended on Twitter and canceled on Twitter, starting with your father-in-law, starting with our former president,” Hannity said.

“Now the ayatollahs in Iran, Judge, they were allowed to stay on, Donald Trump is the one that got canceled.” Hannity continued. “It was conservatives suspended and canceled, and not a peep from anybody on the left at all.”

“They didn’t care at all what happened to conservatives,” he said. “They only care what happens to them, and they’re building something up in their mind, that likely doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen under Elon Musk at all.”
