Elon Musk reacted to the vocal proponents of censorship on Twitter after sealing the deal to purchase the company as well as what some may interpret as taking a jab in response to the performance of former President Donald J. Trump’s rival platform.

With it still unknown whether Musk will allow Trump to return to Twitter for the first time since he was permanently suspended after the January 6, 2021 chaos at the U.S. Capitol, a move that was also taken by all other major tech companies, many leftists are assuming the worst, steeling their resolve to undermine the Tesla/SpaceX CEO, including the White House which has already suggested that “reforms” could soon be coming.

On Monday, Trump denied that he had any interest in returning to Twitter, saying instead that he was focused on his own platform.

“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH,” Trump told Fox News. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.”

Trump also released a statement through his Save America PAC showing an image of the top social media apps on Apple along with the message that “Truth Social is number ONE in the Apple App Store!”

Following Trump’s remarks, Musk cryptically posted the App Store image, writing “Truth Social is currently beating Twitter & TikTok on the Apple Store.”

Efforts are already underway to have Truth Social deep-sixed with the left-wing group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sending a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook last week demanding that Trump’s platform be removed from the App Store, claiming that such a move was justified due to his “history of undermining democracy and promoting violent extremism, his prior abuse of social media platforms to do so, and his apparent desire to continue doing so through the recently launched Truth Social platform,”

Musk also remarked on the leftist temper tantrum that has erupted since the Twitter board accepted his $44 billion bid which set off volcanic ravings from Democrat politicians and celebrities as well as fears that Twitter employees would sabotage the platform, leading to the company locking down its source code to prevent unauthorized changes by disgruntled “woke” employees.

“The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all,” tweeted Musk.

Musk provided some clarity to his defense of free speech.

“By “free speech”, I simply mean that which matches the law,” he tweeted. “I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law.”

“If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect,” he added. “Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.”

The ongoing hissy fit over the political left’s loss of their ability to censor their political adversaries is getting more unhinged by the day and, as could be expected, many are saying that it’s all about racism.

Sunny Hostin of “The View” declared that Musk’s takeover of Twitter was all about the free speech of straight white men who, she implied, have no such right.

Rob Reiner who played Archie Bunker’s pinko son-in-law Mike “Meathead” Stivic on the iconic sitcom “All In The Family” spewed his usual conspiratorial nonsense.

“Now that Elon Musk is buying Twitter, the question for all of us is: Will he allow a Criminal who used this platform to lie and spread disinformation to try to overthrow the US Government to return and continue his Criminal activity? And if he does, how do we combat it?” Reiner wrote.

Democrat lawmakers also railed against Musk’s desire to return free speech to Twitter.

“He makes a great car and rocket,” said Rep. Adam Schiff. “But I’m concerned his personal views will stop the fight against disinformation on social media.”

“The problem on Twitter hasn’t been too much content moderation – it’s too much hate,” the impeachment veteran tweeted as he made his case for continued censorship.

Senator Elizabeth Warren called for government intervention to protect “our democracy,” which translates into saving the censorship regime.

“This deal is dangerous for our democracy,” sniped Warren. “Billionaires like Elon Musk play by a different set of rules than everyone else, accumulating power for their own gain. We need a wealth tax and strong rules to hold Big Tech accountable,”

Much is still unknown with Musk’s takeover of Twitter. In addition to the possible lifting of Trump’s ban, there are also questions on how far changes will go but one thing is for sure, those who have contempt for American principles like free speech will be relentless in their efforts to maintain total control over the official narrative.
