In the run-up to this year’s key midterm elections, Donald Trump Jr. is reportedly forming an advocacy group to shore up support for gun rights as set forth in the U.S. Constitution.
The Second Amendment Task Force, with the ex-president’s son as its chairman, will focus, in part, on a voter registration drive as well as opposing any of what the organization deems gun-grabbing Biden nominees or Democrat-sponsored legislation or regulations that could intrude on legal access to firearms by law-abiding citizens.
The group also apparently intends to hold fence-straddling, red-state Democrats to account.
“The Second Amendment is the whole ballgame; it’s the freedom that protects all of our other freedoms,” Trump Jr. explained to Fox News. “Unfortunately, the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress are hellbent on eroding our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, whether it’s nominating radical gun-grabbers to senior positions in the executive branch or pushing anti-gun legislation.
“The Second Amendment Task Force is entirely devoted to ensuring the left is never successful in disarming American citizens,” the avid outdoorsman added.
Trump Jr., the executive VP of the Trump Organization and a former judge on his dad’s “Apprentice” reality show, has emerged as one of the most effective MAGA advocates on social media, on analog and digital media platforms, and in person on the campaign trail.
The former first son of the 45th U.S. president intends to barnstorm the country in this election cycle, as well, in support of America First GOP candidates.
The inspiration for the Second Amendment Task Force apparently resulted from the bipartisan opposition to David Chipman, President Joe Biden’s initial nominee to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). The Biden administration subsequently withdrew the nomination.

“The idea for the group came from our successful effort to stop a radical anti-gun lobbyist from becoming the head of the [ATF],” Trump acknowledged. “We had to make sure that the American people knew what was going on, especially with red-state Democrats. If they’re considering casting an anti-Second Amendment vote, we’re going to make sure they feel the pain. This new group will help us put more structure and resources around those efforts to make sure we’re as successful as we can be.”
Even as violent crime is surging in the U.S., particularly in liberal-controlled enclaves, virtue-signaling Democrats seem to obsess about various gun control proposals or measures rather than making sure to put gun felons behind bars and keeping them there, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, among many others, has insinuated.
Biden has named Gary Restaino, the U.S. Attorney in Arizona, as acting ATF director while the nomination of Steve Dettelbach for the job on a permanent basis is pending in the U.S. Senate. Dettelbach was a former U.S. Attorney in Ohio under President Obama.
“The Second Amendment Task Force is the first advocacy group that Trump has launched and been directly involved with,” Fox News added.
