Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld landed several comedic blows on the now-defunct CNN+ and more specifically, his former colleague Chris Wallace, in each block of Thursday’s edition of “The Five.”

He wove his jabs into the panel’s topic at hand with aplomb in every case.

While the panel discussed the depth of the candidate pool for the Democratic Party, Gutfeld quipped, “The Democratic bench is thinner than Chris Wallace’s demo reel from CNN Plus.”

After some chuckles from his fellow commentators, he added, “Thanks. I just needed to get that in there.”

During another block, the panel discussed the crime that plagues New York City and the black population writ large who Gutfeld believes were duped by the Black Lives Matter organization.

“BLM has done to black people what Chris Wallace has done to CNN+. Entice them with a promise and then ditch them on the side of the road,” he analogized.

When it was Gutfeld’s turn to add commentary on the left’s attempts to control the climate with stopgaps and taxpayer money, the host of the highest-rated late-night cable show said, “A lot of these solutions that are coming from the left are unreliable, whether it’s solar panels or windmills. I mean look at CNN+, how much money they invested in wind power by hiring Chris Wallace.”

And in the closing segment featuring the roundtable bit called “One More Thing,” Gutfeld remarked that he had seen the newly-unemployed Wallace wandering around the streets of New York City …

“I just looked out at Sixth Avenue and who did I see just hanging out in front of Tavern? None other than guess… Chris Wallace!” he declared.

CNN has been roundly lampooned since its pay-to-play streaming service unceremoniously crashed into a mountain right after takeoff.

While its network staffers and acolytes beg for kindness from the Twittersphere in the wake of jobs lost because of the failure, a multitude of folks believe the criticism to be very well-deserved.
