Democrats who love to pound their chests over defending democracy seem prepared to use every dirty trick in the book to prevent voters in Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s congressional district from participating in a free and fair election this year when the unapologetic conservative will be up for reelection.
In a move that is as despicable and dastardly as it gets, a group of Georgia voters along with activists and their out-of-state attorneys have filed a lawsuit to block Greene from the ballot, using an obscure Civil War-era provision of the 14th Amendment to disqualify her based on the pretense that she supported an insurrection, in this case, the January 6, 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol that went badly awry and has since been used as an excuse for Democrats to attack their political foes.
Greene appeared with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Monday’s edition of his popular show where she discussed the sick plot that anti-democracy Democrats have reportedly concocted against her and send a message that some of the party’s own politicians could become fair game.
“So they’re trying to prevent voters from voting for you, how is that democracy?” Carlson asked.
“Well it’s not Tucker, that’s the thing,” replied Greene. “These people hate the people in my district so much, they look down on them because they voted for me and sent me to Washington to fight for the things that most Americans care about like secure borders, stopping abortion, protecting our Second Amendment, stopping the out of control spending in Washington and stop funding never ending foreign wars and the insanity that takes place in Washington.”
“Well, I went there and I have been fighting it, and now the progressives, the people who donate money to dark money groups, you know the 501(c)(3)s and the foundations, they’ve hired up some attorneys from New York who hate the people in my district and don’t believe they should have the right to elect who they want to send to Washington which is me,” she continued.
“I have overwhelming support in my district and I’m so thankful for all of them,” MTG said. “Well, now they’ve filed a lawsuit because they’re trying to rip my name off of the ballot and steal my district’s ability to reelect me and send me back to Congress.”
Carlson responded, “So if you can prevent voters from being allowed to vote for the candidate of their choice which is their constitutional right, then the system’s over.”
“Is the Republican Party, with all four paws jumping in to help you?” Carlson asked.
“Not yet, I’m on my own to defend myself,” Greene replied. “Wonderful people are donating to my campaign, mtgforamerica.com and I’m so grateful for that, but I have to protect myself. I have to go to court on Friday and actually be questioned about something I’ve never been charged with and something I was completely against.”
“And so this is how far it’s going,” she added, ‘these leftists, these progressives who would rather want… they’d rather have the judge or bureaucrats making decisions instead of voters, they want to hand that over to them and not let the people in my district even have the right to vote for me.”
“The Republican Party needs to fight harder, Tucker,” she said. “You know, there’s something that I have learned and I think that this is really important, you know if you can challenge any representative’s candidacy or elected office holder, then I bet you we could roundup some Republican voters who didn’t like Kamala Harris funding rioters, criminal rioters out of jail or Ilhan Omar or Cori Bush or Maxine Waters inciting riots.”
“You know, I think there’s another way to play this game,” she said, putting Democrats on notice.
“American citizens have a right to vote for anyone they want to cause its their government it’s self-government and if you take that away it’s tyranny,” Carlson said.
