A duo of “woke” activists are being ridiculed after falsely accusing a black disc jockey of wearing blackface during a charity event at an Arizona school, yet another example of the twisted obsession of leftists to find racism where none exists.
The two Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion specialists, Arizona State University faculty member Stuart Rhoden and Jill Lassen, a librarian with a reputation for being abusive who has referred to parents as “super rich White Karens,” expressed their outrage to the Scottsdale Unified School District’s Hopi Elementary PTA for hiring DJ Kim Koko Hunter to provide entertainment at the April 9 fundraiser.
But the pair of self-appointed members of the race police were forced to apologize after they were informed that Hunter wasn’t a white man wearing blackface as they had claimed but is actually black, an inconvenient truth that has led to much mockery and scorn on social media.

According to the Arizona Daily Independent, “Lassen, who describes herself as ‘an ardent community volunteer, activist, and ally to the LGBTQ+ community,’ then sent out an email to Megan Livengood, head of the Hopi PTA, accusing the group of promoting racism.”
Livengood responded, “I am deeply offended by this email even with the included apology. The Scottsdale Parent Council is an organization that claims to encourage diversity and inclusion; accusing the Hopi PTA and myself a hiring a DJ that participated in racist behavior is absolutely against your mission. The DJ that the Hopi PTA hire was, in fact a Black man.”
A humbled Lassen replied, “You are right, we should’ve reached out and inquired before making such accusations. I cannot fathom the hurt, anger and frustration you felt after you and others volunteered countless hours on your event. Again I truly apologize,” the outlet reported.
Lassen is a co-chair for the Scottsdale Parent Council (SPC) DEI Committee.
Rhoden was less contrite, posting to Facebook”
After sending an email to the principal to express my concern, all I received was that the DJ was a “Black man.” The PTA president responded that; ” I would like to set the record straight. The **** PTA hired a black man to be our DJ. Please share with me how this is curturally (sic) unaware? I know no apology will undo this image, so I will not be offering one.” Another parent got all up in my DMs telling me how much money they raised and that I was this and that and none of it positive.
He then doubled down, admitting that Hunter was black but could have have used makeup to appear blacker, posting a side-by-side picture of the entertainer.

“Let me be clear, a Black man, apparently in Black face is an entirely different discussion than a White person. However I did not state that the person was White. It was assumed that was my intent, and perhaps it was, but nonetheless, looking on his FB page (photos below), it seems at the very least he is in darker make-up if not ‘Black face’ or I am completely mistaken and it’s the lighting of the patio,” Rhoden wrote.
Rhoden “is a member of Scottsdale Unified’s Equity and Inclusion Committee and the Scottsdale Human Relations Commission, which claims to ‘promote all dimensions of diversity’ as an advisory body to the mayor, city council and staff. Critics say the Commission may promote some levels of diversity, but not diversity of thought,” according to the Daily Independent.
The two were dragged on Twitter for their jumping to conclusions about the DJ.

The event brought in over $300,000, a huge success despite the ravings of the two cranks and their claims of phantom racism.
