Max Boot is “frightened” about the potential impacts of billionaire Elon Musk purchasing Twitter, but his take on the matter (which gives a gentle hug to censorship) earned him quite the public flogging on the blue bird platform.
“I am frightened by the impact on society and politics if Elon Musk acquires Twitter. He seems to believe that on social media anything goes. For democracy to survive, we need more content moderation, not less,” he tweeted.

The Washington Post op-ed columnist likely wasn’t expecting the deluge of negative responses he received, but when you advocate against free speech, what else should one expect?

Musk is just taking advantage of the opportunity Twitter created, to financially rob Twitter. He makes an offer with the priviso that he will dump 9% of the stock if they don’t accept it. If they do accept it he opens up the platform to all and doubles its traffic. If they don’t, the stock tanks and he as the largest shareholder sues them for destroying his investment seeking treble damages, Twitter settles for 2x the amount Musk claims he lost. Alternatively, stock tanks and he buys it all at a discount. Musk wins no matter what happens.
What about censoring the INSANITY of the LEFT? THAT is what he’s afraid of!
Max Boot: just another communist among many in America. This is the main reason you never give up your guns to anybody. If you really understand, you may want to buy more.
