‘Is there a master plan?’ CBS hosts debate Elon Musk’s ‘Bond villain move’

Billionaire Elon Musk’s latest moves around Twitter have confused a number of people, but it would appear that nobody is more confused than “CBS Mornings” correspondent Vladimir Duthiers, who claims that “a lot of people think Elon Musk is sort of like a Bond villain now.”

“Now to the latest twist in the Elon Musk Twitter saga….We told you last week, the world’s richest man recently bought a 9.2% stake in the social media company that he has often criticized,” he explained. “Twitter offered him a seat on the board and Musk said he was looking forward to working with the CEO and the board. But last night, Twitter’s CEO revealed Musk passed on the offer the day it was supposed to take effect.”

This move boggled minds, as it appeared Musk was quite excited to come on board at Twitter and start making changes. However, Duthiers joked that it was a “Bond villain move to pull.”

“[S]o we were sort of joking with Shawna Thomas, our executive producer, and a lot of people think Elon Musk is sort of like a Bond villain now. That is a very Bond villain move to pull,” he remarked.

However, Gayle King defended Musk and denied any villainy.

“He is not a Bond villain, he just thinks outside the box. It’s never boring. He’s always got a master game plan,” she assured.

But fellow co-host Tony Dokoupil wasn’t convinced.

“Is there a master plan?” Dokoupil mused. “I don’t know. He spent the weekend also disparaging and criticizing Twitter, pointing out that some famous people don’t tweet that much. And I don’t know, do you want that out of your biggest shareholder?”

“Elon doesn’t just do stuff randomly, I don’t believe that,” King butted in.

“But the question is if you want to get richer do you buy stock in Twitter at the moment? I don’t know, based on what Musk has been tweeting about,” Dokoupil explained.

  1. Don’t count me as part of that lot. Speak for Yourself. You nor anyone else Speaks for Me

  2. As another group of wacko leftists who failed or slept thru Econ 101 they failed to understand the ramifications of the board in limiting Musk’s ownership to 14% of the stock. Not on the board he can own as much as he wants to buy.Ms. King was the only one to see more than what was on their cheat sheets.

  3. Latest slam from the progressive left…… step off of our plantation and we will smear you as a Bond villain!

LOL! They have to be nuts to think they can either take on Musk or actually compete in a war of wits with him.
