Dr. Anthony S. Fauci has kept a relatively low profile lately with the White House seriously dialing down its hysteria-drenched rhetoric about COVID, likely fearing voter retaliation for lockdowns and mandates in the critical midterm elections, but he resurfaced with yet another one of his decrees on the persistent virus.
The longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the agency that he has headed up since President Ronald Reagan’s first term in office joined host Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week” where he went against his standard fearmongering, proclaiming that it is now up to Americans to decide what their “individual risk” is in terms of taking preventative action to avoid contracting the coronavirus.
During the conversation, Karl brought up the recent “spike” in positive COVID cases among the Washington, D.C. political class, notably Democrats who somehow managed to navigate the highly infectious first wave but who have been diagnosed positive in increasing numbers.
Karl set the table for Fauci by bringing up the annual Gridiron Club soiree, an event where it has been reported that 67 attendees have tested positive for COVID.
Dr. Anthony Fauci says Americans should continue assessing risk for themselves as COVID-19 cases rise.
“We don't want to pooh-pooh getting infected. I think people sometimes say, ‘Well, it's OK to get infected.’ No, it's not.” https://t.co/zFinmNOhY6 pic.twitter.com/CiOWAYxneF

“Well, let me ask you about the spike we’ve seen right here in Washington, you and I were both at the Gridiron Dinner, this is a dinner that had about 600 or so attendees, so far I believe we’re at 67 people that have tested positive who were at the dinner,” he said.
“I’m told at least so far no indication of anybody seriously ill, but, you know, about 10 percent of those infected… what is the lesson here?” he asked. “Should we not be holding events like this or to the point we just talked about, is it time to accept that we can have an event like this but there’s going to be a risk, some people will test positive, if everybody is vaccinated, you know, it won’t necessarily be that serious?”
“I think it gets back to what we were discussing just a moment ago, Jon,” replied Fauci. “It’s going to be a person’s decision about the individual risk they’re going to take. I think the people who run functions, who run big dinners, who run functions like the White House Correspondents’ ball or thinking back, the Gridiron Dinner, are going to have to make a determination looking at the CDC guidelines and seeing where the trends are, I mean, there are some places you go, not only is it required that you show proof of vaccination, but you have to have a negative test the day you go to a particular place.
Fauci continued, “And I know a lot of social functions throughout Washington and in New York are doing the same thing, and it’s up to the individual to determine what their level of risk. We don’t want to pooh-pooh getting infected. I think people sometimes say, well, it’s okay to get infected.”
“No, it’s not,” the elfin career bureaucrat added, “because there are things like long COVID and there are sometimes people even though they don’t require hospitalization, Jon, they get significantly ill, they may be at home, they may require a doctor consultation, but they don’t get hospitalized, that’s not something to pooh-pooh.”
“Again, each individual will have to take their own determination of risk.” Fauci proclaimed.
However, the tiresome public face of the coronavirus for the last two years. like much of the political left in America, isn’t about to surrender the face diapers that have become a symbol of the Biden regime.

Dr. Fauci’s latest decree was met with a blistering response on Twitter.
Those of us who saw in 2020 that Fauci was a fraud, social distancing was moronic, and masking was a superstition deserve apologies from “experts” and journos that will never come, but there’s an enduring pride now among all those who refused to bend the knee to mass hysteria

Somebody needs to tell Fauci that NOBODY cares what he has to say. We’re DONE listening to his un-scientific mandates!

at least 67 of DC's elite media & Democrats (inc Fauci) who attended the Gridiron Dinner have tested positive for COVID — organizers claim all attendees were vaccinated
Biden said vaccinated people could not spread COVID which is really interesting how this happened— Sean Spicer (@seanspicer) April 10, 2022
Seriously? But I thought you and your followers called people murderers for not getting vaccinated 🙄

Lessons From Gridiron dinner
1. Vaccine passports do not work
(Mandates & passports became ethically bankrupt when breakthrough became inevitable @ID_ethics)2. Fauci & Walensky go to 700 unmasked dinner but Toddlers in NYC r victims of CDCs data free toddler mask guidance, wtf

Dr. Anthony Fauci advised that individuals will need to decide for themselves their personal level of risk for events and COVID-19 exposure going forward as people learn to live with the virus.
"Learn to Live with the Virus"? So, it was all for nothing.

Dr. Fauci lied to congress about funding the Wuhan lab and two years later is still lying about masks.

Fauci has certainly changed his tune on large gatherings since last year when President Joe Biden’s top medical advisor predicted doom and pestilence when football fans packed college stadiums last fall. But if there is one thing consistent about the elfin demigod at the center of the leftist COVID cult, it’s his flip-flopping.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s call to invade neighboring Ukraine was a fortuitously timed gift to Biden who was able to move beyond the virus that he pledged to beat during his campaign only to fail massively and while Democrats are hoping that voters will forget the hellish past two years, Fauci has a personal stake in keeping it alive.
