Convicted race-baiter Jussie Smollett turned his continued claims of innocence into an R&B tune that he released on Friday, just weeks after walking free from jail where he served only six days of a 150-day sentence for staging a fake hate crime.
“It’s like they’re hell-bent on not solving the crime,” Smollett began in the song “Thank you God…” released on streaming platforms. “Taking out the elements of race and trans and homophobia that’s straight taking lives / But turn around and act like I’m the one that killed the strides.”
“I can’t be mad / Take my ego out / Some people searching for fame / Some people chasing that clout / Just remember this, this ain’t that situation / You think I’m stupid enough to kill my reputation?” the former “Empire” star rapped slowly.
Smollet lyrically denied any wrongdoing although convicted of paying two men to make himself the fake victim of a racist and homophobic attack.
“Just simply to look like a victim like it’s something fun / Y’all better look at someone else, you got the wrong one,” he said with female backup singers.

“All I ever wanted to do was make my people proud / Fame is nothing real, it’s how you make them feel / Celebrity is for the birds, I ain’t no man of steel,” he rhymed.
Smollett was released from jail last month on a $150,000 bond pending the outcome of an appeal of his initial conviction.
Smollett assured listeners with a caption in the clip posted to Instagram that “every single cent of artist profits will be donated” to three organizations including Rainbow Push Coalition, STB Safety and Illinois Innocence Project.
Some people on social media patted Smollett on the back for not backing down on his proclaimed innocence.
You gotta commend him for sticking to his guns. 😅

Most, however, were ready to close the media’s chapter on reporting on Smollett for fear that it would inflate his already large ego and prolong his 15 minutes of fame.
***WARNING: Language***
Can we just stop reporting on this guy, he is just a waste of space and time, and this kind of shit is just keeping his 15min going… the arrogance of this guy is just crazy

One person on social media must have seen that the song hadn’t even eeked out 5,000 views as of early Saturday morning and said, “I hope he doesn’t beat himself up if it doesn’t make the charts.”
