A brazen gang of thieves who reportedly stole over $70,000 in merchandise from a New York City store had their getaway foiled when they were chased down by baton-wielding law enforcement officers after they rammed a police car during their attempted escape.
Police intervened after the trio of shoplifters allegedly pilfered goods from the exclusive Kirna Zabete boutique at 477 Broome Street in the city’s exclusive SoHo neighborhood in lower Manhattan, giving chase after the thieves sped off in a Dodge Charger only to be trapped in traffic, at one point reversing the vehicle into an NYPD cruiser.
The action which went down on Sunday was captured in a dramatic video posted to TikTok as baton-wielding police officers swarmed, beating on the car until the occupants emerged and were promptly arrested.

The video footage came shortly after the three suspects, who were identified as 29-year-old Janavia Marable. 27-year-old Brianna Grier and 29-year-old Jahil Pampli, all of Newark, N.J. had entered Kirna Zabete and “removed items from the display cases and racks,” according to the NYPD.
They then exited the premises with their loot that included a “Dior jacket, Dior pants, Gucci jackets, Gucci pants, Sacai jackets, a Bottega crossbody and a Bottega Jodie bag worth a total of $14,400,” the New York Post reported, the same gang had previously hit the store, making off with $50,000 in February. and sped away in the Charger.
“When officers attempted to conduct a lawful car stop, the vehicle refused to pull over and recklessly drove through traffic,” the NYPD said in a statement.
In the video, officers can be seen surrounding the vehicle and pounding on it, putting the cuffs on the suspects as they got out and hauling them off with one woman saying “I didn’t do nuthin'” as she was led off by police.
The trio was charged with grand larceny, reckless endangerment, fleeing an officer and resisting arrest. Two of the women were also charged for the February 6 robbery at the same store, according to authorities.
Shoplifting has plagued the trendy SoHo area with crime continuing to rage in the Big Apple despite the mayoral election of former police officer Eric Adams who residents had hoped would be able to get the violence, thuggery and thievery under control, but the Democrat quickly discovered that the problem wasn’t going to be simply resolved.
New York City in general has seen an escalation in crime since former Mayor Bill de Blasio essentially handed the key to the city to criminals who exploited the national unrest following the unfortunate death of career criminal and drug addict George Floyd who perished after his fateful encounter with Minneapolis police in 2020.
When opportunistic thugs took advantage of the situation to ransack New York City stores, instead of cracking down, de Blasio sided with the crooks, demonized and defunded the police and posed with Black Lives Matter activists while the organization instigated the nationwide eruption of violence. Mayor Adams has been unable to put the genie back into the bottle.
Videos like the one of the SoHo posse are being posted to social media on a daily basis as the crime wave in Democrat-controlled cities rages out of control.
