Violent crime continues to run rampant in Democrat-controlled jurisdictions, including the state capital of California where 15 people were reportedly shot in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Six of the gunfire victims have tragically died, according to Sacramento, Calif, cops. So far, no arrests have been made in the mass shooting as law enforcement officers search for at least one suspect in what might have been a drive-by attack.

On social media, police had announced that they had closed off certain streets of downtown and advised the community to avoid the area after the 2 a.m. shooting. Cops are also asking for witnesses to come forward, including those who might have cell phone video of what happened.

The incident reportedly occurred in a popular entertainment district that features many bars and restaurants which is adjacent to the Golden 1 Center, the venue where the NBA Sacramento Kings play their home games.

Shots reportedly rang out at closing time for the nightspots; some sources claim that the gunman fired about 50 rounds.

“Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester said at a news conference that police were patrolling the area at about 2 a.m. when they heard gunfire. When they arrived at the scene, they found a large crowd gathered on the street and six people dead. Another 10 either took themselves or were transported to hospitals. No information was given on their conditions,” the Associated Press reported.

“Authorities don’t know whether one or more suspects were involved and are asking for the public’s help in identifying who is responsible. Lester did not give specifics on the type of gun used.”

Chief Lester also described the now-secured crime setting as “a very complex and complicated scene” as well as “a really tragic, unfortunate situation.”

According to the Sacramento Bee, “Hours earlier, thousands had been gathered at nearby Golden 1 Center for a performance by Grammy-winning rapper Tyler, the Creator. It wasn’t known if any of the victims had been in attendance.”

“Video posted on Twitter showed people running through the street as the sound of rapid gunfire could be heard in the background. Video showed multiple ambulances had been sent to the scene,” the Bee added.

The situation is still unfolding, and there are not a lot of details otherwise currently available, which the police chief conceded during an impromptu presser.

Several Twitter users have already uploaded what purports to be video of downtown Sacramento, including one in which you can hear what appears to be gunshots in the background of what appears to be a street brawl.
