‘Why hasn’t Joy Reid been charged?’ Tucker Carlson asks FBI about MSNBC host’s homophobic blog hoax

Tucker Carlson has a question: “What ever happened to Joy Reid’s gay-bashing scandal?”

Back in 2018, a blog run by the liberal MSNBC host called “The Reid Report” surfaced, on which she repeatedly appeared to target gay people.

Among the offensive posts were the Top 5 “totally not gay celebrities of the year”; suggestions that the sons of Supreme Court chief justice John Roberts and conservative journalist Michelle Malkin are gay; expressing her opposition to gay marriage, and claims that “most straight people cringe at the sight of two men kissing.”

At the time, Reid claimed that an “unknown, external party accessed and manipulated” her blog to “include offensive and hateful references that are fabricated and run counter to my personal beliefs and ideology.”

According to Reid, the FBI was investigating the alleged homophobic hacking, and that apparently satisfied the masses. The story faded away and soon, the site was even scrubbed from the Wayback Machine, an internet archive.

But Tucker Carlson hasn’t forgotten the story, and on Thursday, he and his guest speculated that Reid may have pulled “a Smollett.”

“Whatever happened to Joy Reid’s gay-bashing scandal?” Carlson asked. “She was found a few years ago to have written this blog attacking gay people, putting them in danger, and then she said she never wrote it. Someone had hacked her blog, and she called law enforcement, then we never really heard the end of that.”

“Did Vladimir Putin hack Joy Reid’s blog?” Carlson wondered sarcastically, before turning to “Outspoken” Editor-in-Chief Chadwick Moore and asking his thoughts on what happened.

“An investigation happened, she had a hired gun claim that, yes, it was hacked,” Moore replied. “Then her employer, the far-left Daily Beast, did their own investigation and said, no, it was not hacked. And that’s coming from them, so that’s very interesting, indeed.”

“Then the FBI got involved, and we still haven’t heard what came of that,” Moore continued. “We do however have a name for when someone fakes a crime, gets law enforcement involved, and then wastes money, government resources, when they know it’s faked. It’s called pulling a ‘Smollett.'”

“And if there’s one thing that’s really going to hurt Joy-Anne Reid, it’s being compared to Jussie Smollett, because he is, of course, a homosexual,” Moore, who is himself, gay, added. “She’s not very fond of those people.”

If indeed, the evidence shows Reid did write the homophobic blog posts, Carlson wondered why she hasn’t been charged with lying to federal agents.

“We’ve got a murder epidemic underway in the country, there’s a war brewing in eastern Europe — now is not the time to tie up FBI resources with your fake hate crime claims,” Carlson stated. “Why hasn’t Joy Reid been charged for lying about this hacking of her blog?”

“Isn’t that fascinating?” Moore said. “It makes you wonder if maybe she went to these officers and said, ‘Look, I wrote it. I have to do this for the cameras.’ Maybe she pulled some kind of deal. Or maybe she just has Liberal Media privilege.”

Moore wondered how it would look for MSNBC if one of their hosts was arrested “for pulling a Smollett.”

“She made such a big deal that she would get to the bottom of this,” Moore said. “And it appears that it was either Joy Reid that wrote these very homophobic blog posts or Vladimir Putin.”
