The Georgia mother who recently turned her local school board on its head by confronting them with their own sinister ideology is encouraging other like-minded parents to do the same.

Michelle Brown made internet headlines after she attended a March 17 Cherokee County School Board (CCSB) meeting where she proceeded to read excerpts aloud from the novel “Homegoing” by Yaa Gyasi. The award-winning novel follows the divergent paths of two half-sisters during the 18th-century slave trade in Africa.

Her tongue circled her lips. He pushed harder, his breath heavy and labored. She scratched his back and he cried out. She bit his ear and pulled his hair,” she recited to the board, adding, ‘There’s lot more to it. It’s Fifty Shades of Grey in CCSD.”

One member of the CCSB board interrupted her and called the recitation “inappropriate” and Brown was summarily gaveled out of continuing.

Unable to recognize irony, the board member now identified as Patsy Jordan seemed to plead, “Excuse me, we have children at home.” The viral footage can be seen below, along with the sound conclusion from a compatriot: “If something is too obscene to be spoken about in front of adults, then it’s too obscene to be given to children.”

“Don’t you find the irony in that?” Brown responded to Jordan and the board. “You’re exactly saying exactly what I’m telling you! You’re giving it to our children! I would never give this to my children!”

Brown reiterated her case to Fox News.

“All of them were kind of afraid,” Brown said about fellow parents. “They didn’t want to go up against [the school board]. So I thought, ‘Well, I’ll do it, I’ve done it before.’ So that’s when I started emailing them and then got up to speak. I had no idea that they [the board] were going to react that way.”

Typically a deeply “red” stronghold, Cherokee Co. residents voted nearly 70 percent for former President Trump in 2020. But where the Left can’t get it done by packing the courts, they are packing the school boards instead. That influx of leftist ideology and the increase in the number of school administrators peddling CRT has left the once-peaceful county with no other option but to fight back.

“The purpose of this is to bring awareness that if it can happen in Cherokee County, which is the top Republican, conservative county in the state of Georgia … it’s happening everywhere. This isn’t just happening in public schools, this is happening in private schools,” said Brown, who appeared recently on “The Ingraham Angle” on the Fox News network.

Brown continued, saying “the school board is deemed a machine,” that has “power over administrators, teachers and parents in the community.”

Given the machinations of U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland in focusing his prosecutorial powers on everyday Americans, Brown may be right to suppose government at all levels sees people like her “as terrible and irrational people, domestic terrorists if you will.”

“All this happened under your watch,” Brown reminded the CCSB. “Maybe if you spent more time reading these books instead of calculating the statistical demographics of those submitting the books, you wouldn’t be grooming our children. You’re saying that we’re embarrassing you? Well, you’re embarrassing us and our kids. It’s not OK! You are supposed to be giving them a safe space in school. These books? If I can’t email them to you, if I can’t say them, they shouldn’t be in the school!”

She concluded with a call-to-action: “I am hoping all of this attention empowers our parents, and other parents out there, to stand up for what’s right for their children. When they contact me to say thank you, via private messaging, not even publicly, I ask them to join me in speaking up.”
